Introduction

Anne Frank book is a world-renowned book, it is a book of writings from the Dutch language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Anne's Diary is a good book with a fascinating story about how the Nazis ruled and oppressed the people. The book also narrates a story of a young girl who grew up in harsh conditions and how her life influenced many due to how she described others using her writing (Prose, 2009). In her Diary, she described life in vivid and unforgettable details, which views the human nature of people as good at heart but capable of unimaginable evil and events of World War II. This was due to the harsh treatment they received from the Nazi regime. This paper will discuss why Anne Frank is a good book and why is it banned from kids' schools and the library.

Why Anne Frank Is a Good Book

Anne frank book is an important historical document since it provides a firsthand account of the Holocaust from a victim's perspective. Again, the book can be used to teach children about the Holocaust and the atrocities that were committed during that time. In 1944, a member of the Dutch government announced in a radio broadcast from London that after the war was over, he wanted to collect diaries and letters of eyewitness accounts of the suffering of the Dutch people under German occupation. Anne took that opportunity to present her Diary which was later published. Anne frank's Diary of a young girl unveils the story of a young teenager in the throne of transition to womanhood who reveals a description of eight people hiding in Amsterdam during world war II, fearful for their lives, and offers a view of some sincere, faithful Dutch men and women willing to risk their lives to help their Jewish friends living in hiding ( Iskander, 1988).The book is recommendable since it contains important historical messages that could be of importance to anyone who would want to know more about the Holocaust.

Also, Anne's book can help young people understand the importance of standing up for what is right. First, it shows how one young person, Anne Frank, was able to stand up against tremendous odds and persevere. One example from the book is when Anne stands up to her mother after she yelled at Margot about her being not good in school than Anne It also provides a concrete example of the power of one individual to make a difference and also demonstrates the importance of hope and resilience in the face of adversity since she still believed that In spite of everything, people are really good at heart which is a sign of hope.

Anne's book is a useful tool for educating children on good character traits and how one should live in an interesting way. Anne's book is suitable for readers who want to learn about character traits of Anne. Anne was thrilled and cheerful even though they were in a bad situation. She was also inquisitive and talkative and always liked describing others. She was an ordinary teenage girl and did not understand how difficult life was for her parents and other adults around her. Therefore, this book is suitable for anyone interested in reading history, her good character traits, and mystery books due to its interesting stories.

Why is Anne Frank's book banned from kids' schools and libraries?

Anne frank book was challenged in 2010 by a parent who requested that her daughter not be ruined to read the book loudly. Also, the officials stopped assigning the book since it contained sexual materials and homosexual themes (Doyle, 2011). Most of the concerns about the book were about sexually explicit materials and experiences of the changes related to puberty. I would also recommend banning the book since explicating such content to children's minds alters their behaviors, especially during adolescence.  A district school in suburban Fort Worth ordered its librarians to remove the book from their shelves and digital libraries since many parents challenged it because of their LGBT-friendly content, which could affect their children. Therefore, banning the book was necessary to safeguard children's health and morality since they would adopt culture they read from the book.

The book talks about sensitive topics like sex. While these topics may be important to discuss with children, the book is not the appropriate venue. The book is full of explicit descriptions of sex and frank discussions of Anne's budding sexuality which is not appropriate for children. They are not ready to handle this information, and it could be damaging to their innocent view of the world.

Additionally, Anne Frank's book talks about drugs and alcohol in a scenario where Anne and her friends discuss trying cigarettes and alcohol which is not an appropriate topic for children. They should not be exposed to this at such a young age. The book also includes discussion of mature topics like war, violence, and death. These are heavy topics that can be difficult for children to understand. Additionally, the book contains profanity and crude humor. While The Diary of Anne Frank is an important book, it is not appropriate for children to read.

Conclusion

The essay has talked about why Anne Frank's Diary is a good book as well as why it has been banned in several states. I believe that the book Anne Frank should not be banned from kids' schools and libraries. I think that this book is important for kids to read because it teaches them about the history and what happened during the Holocaust. It also shows them that even in the darkest of times, there is still hope and that people can be good to each other. Though Anne Frank's book is good, it has been banned over the years in the United States primarily because of passages that were considered sexually offensive and the tragic nature of the book, which some felt might be depressing for young readers. Though banning of the book may seem inappropriate to many readers, it is an important measure to protect children's health awareness and well being.
