Over the decades, India and China have become emerging superpowers globally with the potential of significantly impacting the world economy in the corning decades. The nations attribute their potential to various factors, the main ones being rapidly expanding economy, demographic trends, and strong leadership (Siddiqui, 2019). The two economies continue to enjoy economic growth, but because of the various weaknesses and strengths attached to each country's policies, India cannot surpass China in development. China has an enabling and robust environment to stay ahead of India with regard to strong government policies, a high growth economy, and has become a notable figure in the world economy.

China has powerful government policies that will enable its economy to stay ahead of India due to its focus on tapping talented and innovative people. While India is suffering from brain drain since its brilliant nationals seek permanent residency to nations such as the US, Chinese government officials are sponsoring education as well as startups to talented individuals (Stambach, 2014). A good example is how the Chinese government offers fully-paid scholarships to their nationals pursuing education overseas, especially at Cambridge University, with a condition of the individuals returning to work in China (Stambach, 2014). All these government policies aim at empowering young innovative, and talented individuals towards further industrialization for the Chinese economy.

The Chinese economy mostly depends on the development of three significant models' investment, infrastructure, and manufacturing, while India is still struggling to maintain all three models. India falls behind China on all three models since while China's investments per its GDP is at 50%, India is at 30%, manufacturing consists of 20% of the Indian economy and 30% of China's (Garret, 2015). Outside the Western world, China has become very attractive due to its magnificent physical infrastructure consisting of roads and buildings, but India still looks like an underdeveloped country. Improving a nation's economy can be easily achieved, although it requires hard work and resilience as well as the right resources to maintain the growing economy.

India has the capability of developing and catching up with China if the nation becomes aggressive in adopting more economic resonate policies. Currently, the country has the fastest­ growing economy rated at 7% per annum as per 2018, where China cannot match such a high growth rate (Siddiqui, 2019). Together with the fast-growing population, the growing economy, and new policies aimed at reducing the nation's inflation rate, the Indian economy will match the Chinese GDP in the next two to three decades. The time frame might seem too long for India to catch up with China, but with sound economic policies, India may have a chance to surpass China in terms of growth and development.

China has an established position in the world's economy as a significant economic partner, while India has a long way to catch up. The Chinese leadership focuses on developing policies that support their nationals in nurturing young talents to lead the country a milestone ahead in their development process in terms of infrastructure, manufacturing, and investment. India has a fast-growing economy supported by its strong demographic trends but still falls behind due to brain drain as well as weak economic models. The Chinese economy will continue excelling to greater heights lengthening the strides India has to achieve to become more developed than China.
