M6A3: Learning Reflections

Learning Reflections

The reflective prompt below is intended to help you reflect on your own learning for this module. Your participation and learning process are the important concepts, not simply the "correct" answers. Your answers can be used to help scaffold and guide your own learning, and to create a pathway through this course that meets your individual needs.

Your response should be no more than 5 sentences. You must use full sentences and should refer to the concepts from the week, but do not need to worry about using proper APA citations, references, or formatting.

  • What is one important concept or idea you learned this week and why does it matter to you?

Module 6: Overview & Outcomes

Last week showed us how the universalized religions of Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism began to take hold and connect people over long distances. This week, we will continue to explore universalized religion, but through a new religion that is still relevant today: Islam.

Emerging sometime after the other Abrahamic religions, Christianity and Judaism, this religion had a lightning fast and significant impact on world history. At the same time, Buddhism influenced the ever-growing Tang Dynasty in the east and the Christian traditions developed and formalized in the west. As all of these religions evolved and spread, they created a new type of empire, setting the stage for clashes for control.
