"We all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the path we choose to act on, that's who we really are" -Sirius Black. As we all know, the world isn't inherently good, nor is it inherently bad, for in this agathokako logical world's population, we can find all kinds of people with different values. I believe agathokako logical is the perfect word to describe our society, since it means to be composed of both good and evil. Along with our society, I can confidently say that it is a good word to describe the Greek God Eros. Being the God of love and attraction, he is often illustrated as a charismatic God, guilty of a few lighthearted mischiefs.

However, even the actual embodiment of love has a cruel side. But now I wonder, how do people perceive me? Well, some have expressed that I am charming and honest, but others state that I can be rather selfish at times. It appears that both Eros and I, despite our mortal dissimilarity, can relate to being perceived a certain way by others.

Eros, whose ancient Greek name means desire, was worshiped by fertility cults in Thespia and shared popular cults with Aphrodite. Needless to say, he was admired and praised to a great extent, for he possessed an unparalleled ability. With just the strike of an arrow, Eros could immediately decide the fate of an enamored couple and make anyone fall in love. However, this power on Eros's hands was a double edged sword, for he was known to be quite mischievous. You see, Eros had two kinds of arrows: a lead-tipped arrow and a gold-tipped arrow. When a gold-tipped arrow struck a person's heart, it would instantly make them fall in love with who they first laid eyes on. While on the contrary, the lead-tipped arrow made them forever flee from the soul they faced. Naturally, Eros had a merry time randomly striking people's hearts and causing turmoil in their love lives. Because of this, he can be a cruel and inconsiderable God at times.

Despite being unable to relate to his wicked ways, Eros and I relish manifesting passion and loyalty. For instance, I am incredibly passionate about art and tend to express my feelings through it. I have never refrained from exposing my ardent love when it comes to relationships since I am tremendously romantic. Similarly, as revealed by his actions, Eros does not desist from demonstrating his passionate love for Psyche. For instance, just before marrying her, he rescued her from death when she fell into an eternal sleep. Even though he did flee when she broke his trust, he continued to love her from afar and eventually came to her aid. As a result, those who benefit or witness our winsome acts may perceive us as lovely and charming individuals.

As I mentioned previously, the God of love has a dark side. Since he selects his victims randomly, anyone can be affected despite their current relationship status. Not to mention, Eros intentionally chose poorly matched people and made them lust for each other for his amusement. Notwithstanding the love he conveys for Psyche, he is incredibly selfish and inconsiderate when it comes to us mortals.

I, too, have committed selfish acts in the past that I am not proud of. I used to be surrounded by toxic people with malignant intentions, and it reflected in my behavior. Because of this, the people affected by our selfish actions perceive us as self-entered or manipulative.

Finally, people will form an opinion about you depending on how you treat them. Those we have affected perceive both Eros and me differently. Whether it's with an act of kindness or a manipulative act, you will influence those around you. Everyone makes a choice to embrace either their light side or their dark side. Which one do you choose?
