Discussion: When does a person become an adult?

a. 3-4 pages in length

o please note that your essay must fill at least 3/4 of the page for it to count as a "page"

o additionally, please note that no more than four lines of text may appear on a fifth page (this should be enough to finish your concluding thoughts; if it isn't, you need to do some editing!)

b. Follow all assigned Grammar Rules: each violation will result in a one-point deduction from your essay grade

c. MLA format throughout

o double-spaced with no additional spaces before or after title or paragraphs

o all text (including header) uniform font type and 12pt font size

o 1" margins

o header containing author's last name and the page number flush with the right margin

o heading containing author's name, professor's name, class, and essay due date (not the date it was written)

o properly formatted Works Cited page (if applicable)

o properly formatted in-text citations

o properly formatted quotations (if applicable)

d. We discussed logical fallacies, especially re: expert opinions, but since all of us are adults--at least in the eyes of the law--we are experts. Because of this, you may use your own experience as evidence using "I," "me," etc.
