Love Presentation in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

In his unique play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," William Shakespeare illuminates several genres, including jealousy, magic, revenge, and love. The latter is magnificently presented with all its natural attributes in full play. Everything about love in the play epitomizes its practical nature in total entirety. In the event, the sincerity of love was nowhere to be felt due to difficult moments but Shakespeare comes through with a different perception. In the initial setting, love was regarded as a negative element but afterwards love was positively depicted. In the play, a notable ground of coexistence between Jealousy and love is apparent. The worldly elements and implications of love were brought forth. “They argue and part in bad odor” (Shakespeare 11). From the turn of events, it is clear that the turn of events emanating from love should be lightly taken.

The love illuminated in the play is highly demonstrated in the contemporary circles of romantic relationships and love affairs. The story of four lovers- Helena, Lysander, Demetrius, and Hermia- had apparent inconsistencies, and the dark was open for all to see. The emotional attachment was in total disarray. Lysander and Hermia saw each other, while Demetrius and Helena were attached to each other. “Eugene has given Demetrius permission to marry Hermia, but Hermia, in love with Lysander, refuses to marry Demetrius” (Shakespeare 32). The emotional imbalances kept them out of the space of true Love, and they ended up making wrong choices. The case of the four lovers is a true reflection of how true love can be hard to come by. The affection of true love is a tall order for the four. Love is a challenge that two individuals should approach in full realization of their respective weaknesses.  Fickleness, inconsistency, and loss of direction in the present generation of lovers had a close relationship with the characters in the play. Jealousy runs the present-day love stories as it is the case of Hermia and Helena.
