MIS 341 This is in Microsoft SQL Server

Computer Science Mar 13, 2022

MIS 341 This is in Microsoft SQL Server. I'm supposed to create my own new database, tables etc and write my own queries based on the instructions given from the professor and my own tables I created from the ERD I designed. ERD can change. My issue is I don't how to write the syntax and queries and worried I won't be able to get this database done before the deadline. I need help with writing the queries so the database works because im not creative and im struggling. Main parts of database queries must need: check constraints, default values, indexes, at least 4-5 insert records, 6 procedures and functions(2 of 6 program unit must be functions. 3 must be procedures), 3 out of 6 must contain exception handling(try-catch block), 3 triggers(1 firing on insert, 1 on update, 1 on delete). Everything has to be tested. I have screenshots of instructions and my current ERD I designed.

The purpose of this database is to keep track of the bar business in general, specifically the employees and orders. We don’t really have a solid system set up to keep track of employees, orders, order details, customers, menu items, payments, karaoke event order etc. Our information of everything in the bar is chaotic that it has been causing a issue as of late between the owner, employees, and customers. Our issues range from: payment issues, employee contacts and special orders that are not on the menu, to timecards issues. It is my hope that with this database, we have some sort of security and reinforcements of things. That way everyone between the owner, employees and customers can be happy and not stressed.

Requirements:

  • Business owners must keep track of employees that are hired whether they are full, part, or seasonal employees
  • Payment of the order whether credit/debit/cash must be valid
  • Customers who place an order must be recorded
  • The menu should have various categories and food items available
  • Order should have details of what has been made
  • Employees should keep track of their own customers/regulars that come in
  • Transaction must be correctly done
