One of the most important things to do before jumping into a relationship is to figure out what your goal is. 1. According to Jonathan Pokluda with The Porch, intentional dating has three elements: having intention, or purpose, having the purpose of marriage, and being clear about that purpose. 1. Pokluda goes on to say that anytime you date someone, or simply going on a date, there should be a reason. He also says that the purpose of dating someone should be to figure out if you want to marry them, and if the answer is “no” you break up. There’s no point in staying a relationship that’s going somewhere you don’t want to go, or not going somewhere you do want to go. Pokluda also mentions being clear.
