Staffing plan: growing business

There are two types of staffing models that can be used in a growing business. Two types of staffing models include Staffing organization and Staffing quality/job match. The technology company is aiming at employing workers with a certain talent that will meet their job description. As the head of the human resource team, I will provide a staffing plan that will make sure all the current and the future goals of the company and its expansion goals are met. To properly meet these needs I will use two staffing methods and this includes; the strategic staffing method and person or job match quality staffing model (Bosley, 2018). In the job/person matching model is designed to be able to connect the employee’s skills or talent with the particular job requirement or needs that will enable them to achieve the goals of the company and fulfil the requirements in the human resource department.

In job/ person matching model, the employees are differentiated and grouped by the level of skills, motivation, their qualifications and the challenges they face. This therefore means that an individual employed for a certain job description will be a match for that particular job description and the position in the organization. All the worker’s skills will be evaluated so that the organization can determine any other skills that the workers might be lacking. The use of this model is so important because it will help in improving the organization identity, commitment of the company and the satisfaction of the employees.

A strategic staffing model includes a process where the staffing suggestions of operational and strategic plans will be addressed and properly defined.  This strategic plan will give the manager the chance to account for and organize the employee demands and at the same time keeps the goals of the organization at the front. It gives the human resource the time to examine, analyze and plan on the actions that will make sure the goals of the company are achieved in a timely manner. This type of model gives the human resource manager in the planning process so as to make sure the productivity and the efficiency of the company remains. This is best used to help attract the right type of workers and employees that will fit the job description in the company. Strategic planning will assist the business take its plans into account making sure the goals of the company are met. The staffing levels are determined if there is a staff deficit or surplus. The manager will look at the skills for each individual and determine what skills might be lacking in the current employees (Raghuram, 2016). The short term process will mainly focus on the immediate requirements in the organization while long term process will involve taking a thorough process to determine the needs of the organization.

Long term recruitment plan

The human resource manager will be required to evaluate the positions requiring staffs, notify, look at the needed staff traits and the steps required to perform these objectives. This allows the organization to improve its recruitment pools and their target audience that will in turn help in achieving the goals of the organization. It is also very important that the company manages to retain the right skilled workers after the recruitment process. As the human resource manager, it is also important that we improve the skills of the workers thus making the organization to employ individuals to positions and assess the various additional skills needed to help the organization achieve its goals. The training of the employees is a very important part to help realize the necessary skills.

The recruitment process has several main legal issues. These issues may be encountered during the process of hiring an individual for a job. Some of the issues include: transparency, non-discriminatory employment.  The human resource is required to employ the workers based on their qualifications and skills for the job description. He or she should not discriminate the employees based on their disability, race, age and gender. The organization is also supposed to comply the number of hours of work for each employee and their salaries (Peterson & Smith, 2017). The company is required to properly and clearly write the rules in relation to the salaries of the employees and the number of working hours. During the process of interviewing the potential candidates, the manager is needed to make a decision at the end of every process to help recognize people who meet the needed job and company requirements for a particular job. It is however very important that the manager focuses on the medical conditions of the individuals during the interview process. The individuals will not be discriminated against due to the underlying medical conditions. The individuals should not also be discriminated because of their religious backgrounds and choice of religion. The application of all the above will help in avoiding a lot of legal issues for the company while helping in promoting diversity in the organization. It is essential that the manager is able to manage his employees and their performance.

 Branding strategies and communication methods

Assessment, rewards, punishments, feedback and promotions will be employed to make sure there is smooth running of responsibilities and duties in the company. Being transparent during the process will be very important in creating transparency in the whole activity. The manager should be very transparent about what he expects from the individuals and what it will be like working for our organization. The newly hired individuals will be treated well and most importantly made to feel secure. This will assist in preventing job turnover by making sure that every worker understands their responsibilities and duties in the organization. This in turn helps in the achieving of the company goals and duties.

Communication; the human resource manager is expected to communicate the mission, vision and statements o value for the company. This includes the future and the career path for an individual. From this, the works will be able to understand the desires of the company in the long run and the need for them to work efficiently to help in achieving the company goals.

The human resource manager has the job of analyzing, identifying and developing job descriptions for the company. He or she is required to create a formal job description; this entails creating a title that properly defines the job position for the employees. This is very important for the activities in the company and for the individuals interacting in the company. Creation of the titles will assist in boosting the esteem for the individuals who intend to apply for the various job positions. These job titles will clearly explain the positions for the applicants and the company. The human resource manager is expected to clearly define what an individual is expected to know, do and put more focus on. To be able to easily achieve this, the human resource manager will be required to create a list of the specific responsibilities and duties. The description will provide a summary of schedules, salaries for employees, number of working hours, benefits and their flexibility. This gives a summary description of the position of employees in the organization. The job description may however be subjected to various changes with constant updating because the organization is expanding and growing. In case there are changes I job positions, responsibilities and descriptions, the managers will be updating the changes in a timely manner. Constant update of the responsibilities when necessary will be very essential during the process of assigning work that is connected to achieving company goals and activities.

Selection process

Employees turnover; the manager will be required to create a selection method that will assess whether the applicants have the necessary abilities, knowledge and skills for this job position. This only happens after the human resource manager has recognized the required abilities, skills and knowledge. The methods of selection include personality checks, job interview, background checks and references. The process of job interview involves the two sides exchanging information, asking of questions and figuring out the extent to which the parties can form a working relation.  The organization can also sell itself during the job interview which can in turn lead identification of future opportunities for the company and the applicant. Background check for the applicant and references is very crucial in helping to understand their work experience and history in their field of work. The background check requires only information that will be helpful for the process in relation to the current job description and responsibilities (Keaton & Quinn, 2019). The reference checks performed by the managers will provide information regarding their former performance, assigned duties and work experiences of the applicant. Tis process will in turn help the managers make a decision on whether or not the applicant can qualify for the job in this organization.

Personality checks and tests is a test performed to check the individual’s silks and knowledge.  This includes measuring their emotional quotient and their personality. The company can use this information to make crucial decisions; or examples those individuals with high emotional quotients can be made team leaders because they have the ability thus bettering organization’s performance.

In conclusion, there are various things that can be implemented everything necessary is included in the process of business expansion and growth. These things make sure that visions and strategies are implemented to help the business grow forward. As the human resource manager for this expanding technology company, there are these two different staffing models that can be implemented to help in promoting efficiency and productivity of the company. The two strategies; job/person match and staffing model both can work but they may have some issues like legal issues that must be put into consideration. Some of the issues may include diversity in the organization. The major legal issue that can be expected is promoting diversity in the organization. Transparency is also one of the main issues that is experienced in the process of growing and expanding business.
