Determine what you need to know to help resolve this issue. Remember, the scenario makes reference to data you could hypothetically access if you were actually going to analyze it. Define "variable" then Identify one quantitative and one qualitative research variable within the problem/opportunity that could be measured with some type of data collection. Explain why these variables might be important to determining how to resolve the issue. Determine the level of measurement for each variable and explain your answer. Discuss 1) the sampling method as well as 2) the data collection method you will use. Justify your choice of each. Discuss how your sample selection method will minimize sample bias. Consider how you will know if the data collection method is valid and reliable. This should tie back to your sampling methods and the manner in which you will collect the data.

 

here is what I have so far:The scenario I'm choosing is being an HR manager. People are late to work for so many reason. Some may not be aware of it at time because it's just part of their daily routine. In order for me to solve the problem I have to think of possible things that could be keeping the employee from being on time and come up with possible solutions that could help the employee with being on time. The definition of variable is: not consistent or having a fixed pattern; liable to change; it also means general characteristic being observed on a set of people, objects, ore events, where each observation varies in kind or degree. The type method of how I will use to collect the data is to see how far the employee's work from the job, if maybe construction on the way, what the weather maybe for that day, what time is the employees leaving home, this will be quantitative data. This will allow be to measure the time it takes.

 

 

This is part 2

Develop a 750-1000 word report in which you:

 

A) Restate your problem and the variables you want to study.  

B) Assume you can collect data for these variables.

  1. Explain what is meant by the term descriptive statistics are, using a credible resource. Detail which specific descriptive statistics would be best to help you evaluate your data in order to either better understand the problem and/or come up with a possible solution; explain why.
  2. Explain what frequency tables are and how they relate to probabilities, using a credible resource. Determine how frequency tables/probability analysis might help you understand and/or address your business problem.
  3. Explain what correlation and regression analysis are, using a credible resource. Discuss how correlation and linear regression analysis could help you address the business problem.  What two variables would you want to use in a correlation and regression analysis and why?  (You can use a variable that you have not previously discussed).
  4. Explain what time series analysis is, using a credible resource. What is the role that a time series analysis might play in helping address the business problem?

C) Conclude your paper by selecting the statistical analysis from the four above which would be the most helpful in determining a possible solution for your problem.  Explain why you chose that particular analytical technique.
