After watching all the clips and learning about the different jobs on the technical side of theater, I'd like to know which one interests you. Is there one you liked more than others? Why? Is there one which you did not like at all? Why?
Looking at your personality, which do you think suits you best? Do you like to work alone or with a team? Do you like fast paced or more steady and consistent? Do you like having a sorted plan or do you like to discover as you move through the process?
Use examples from the videos you watched to support your thoughts.
Reminder to only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
Reply below with your thoughts. Please go deeper than "I liked that job" or "I didn't like any of them". I want to know your thoughts. So do your fellow students.
Reply must be at least 250 words.
When you are done with your post, reply to another learner's post, reflecting on the movie you watched and their thoughts. Keep posts on topic and respectful. You must reply to a post in order to get full points.
Live theaters have a lot if important rolls that contributes to the end results. While there are many jobs that help make these plays a reality, I don't see interest in a lot of them. The only thing I kind of see myself doing are miniature scenic designs. I kind of like the idea of showing what should work in a scene and explaining myself without having to rely on my words alone. I prefer this job only for directing reasons, not a fan of making the models myself. If I had to pick a job that I don't particularly like, it would have to be putting makeups on actors. I don't like the idea of putting paint and chemicals on people's faces. I may be working on my social skills, I feel that it's important for me to work with others. I have to interact with others so we can share ideas and improve on that said ideas. I am more of a slow and steady type of person when doing projects. I would try to do those projects early so I can focus on what works and doesn't work. this is the best possible way for me so I won't have to panic and rush out the project with mixed results. I prefer setting a plan that we can follow. We would first discuss on what we would do and what should be done. It works for me because I would have the plan that we made for references so I can see what we've done so far.
