i have an essay for eng 1301 and it is about your experience with writing and reading.

                           A journey for Change

           When I was young I spent most of the time playing score with my friends. I have not thought about reading will be this important in my life. The only thing I knew was I only read for exams and academic purposes. I just start to believe may be at some point reading will be useful after my dad begins to tell me about reading.

I grow up looking at my dad reading fiction books every Sunday laying in his bed. He used to say look son if we want money, we can get it in a short period, but if the thing we want is to be an intelligent, wise, and knowledgeable person, we got to read every single day of our life because at knowledge is the combination of the effort we put each time we read, learn, and work something. I will say that right -ehm- it makes sense. He will continue and will say I am not only saying read your class book because I used to study only my school books. But also read psychology and philosophy books.

My friends had also a big impact on me. When I was in high-school my friends were all geniuses and they freak me out when they say something that hasn't read so that makes me go with them to the library and read the whole day. This helped me to be a good reader in the academic world, but when I was in twelve grade I was in another school and I met a new friend named Zack. He was short and too strong as a student at that time. He used to narrate a book called " Dertogada" for me. It was a suspense book and that changed my view for fiction books. I was not still a good reader even my friend zack increases the love I have for fiction. I don't know I just still read my class books only.

After all this on the day it was a rainy Tuesday and I was working second shift in seven elven and a tall black man with long hair enter the store said, " Selam" which means hello in Ethiopia. I answered by saying hello. He told him he wants a signature of mine to the material he came with. After I sign he asked me how old I am and when I told me I was 18 then he said I am going to give you a book and it is going to change your life forever.

At this point in my life, I find my self as a huge fan of books and the love I have is outstanding. What I start to realize is I can't be a complete person without reading a book. Reading becomes one of the best things I can enjoy in my life and become a solution for most of my questions. I start getting solutions for my depression, stress, and psychological problems through reading.
