1.          (Story / plot): Discuss the "picnic" scene from "Under the Gibbon Moon" chapter. How does it contribute to the overall narrative? 

 

2.         (Idea / theme): Consider Davy's reappearance. Has your perception of him changed, given where he's been and what he's been doing? What do you think of Reuben's behavior (i.e. visiting him and keeping his presence a secret)?

 

3.         (Emotion / tone or character motivation): Who is Jape Waltzer? What seems to motivate him? Does his presence in the novel change the narrative's tone?
