1. The Assessment is comprised of five (5) short essay/answer questions
2. Each question is worth 10 marks each for a total of 50 marks.
3. Students will be marked according to the following criteria:

? Critical analysis of the concepts, linking them to other, relevant concepts
4. Further information regarding the Assessment and tips to inform student responses will be provided throughout the session.
5. Submit your solution to Moodle by the due date using the template provided.
6. This assessment has been set up to be checked by Turnitin, a tool which helps you check whether you have referenced correctly.
7. You can submit your assessment prior to the due date and Turnitin will give you an originality report.
8. Use your own words, provide your own examples and draw your own diagrams.
9. You may then make any changes that may be required and resubmit your final version by the due date
QUESTION 1 (10 marks)
Identify and describe the major components and characteristics of a system, according to Systems Theory. Use a Business Information System of your choice as an example. QUESTION 2 (10 marks) What is the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and how does it relate to UDCB113 and the study of Human-Centred Systems? Your response should discuss the purpose of the analysis and design stages in as it relates to the business.
QUESTION 3 (10 marks)
What is co-design, and what benefits does this methodology offer? Your response should discuss the value of teamwork in the process as it relates to the concept. What can be done to form strong teamwork when using co-design.
QUESTION 4 (10 marks)
Reflect on the relevance of systems thinking and team work to the study of Human-Centred Systems Design, using an example system to support your response (your example could be your group work redesign concept). Your response should define systems thinking as well as teamwork, and describe the links between teamwork, systems thinking and the business strategy.
QUESTION 5 (10 marks)
Identify and describe the main issues associated with the study of ethics and regulation in the systems design, as presented in this subject as it relates to Human-Centred Systems Design. Your response should provide examples that illustrate the ethical challenges that relate to each category.
