Analyze the following fact situations. Assess the danger/caution hypothesis for each fact situation. Identify all possible dangers in each. How likely is each danger to lead to an injury? What kind of injury? In the  light of your assessment of each danger, state how much caution is needed to avoid the injury. What precautions would a reasonable person take?

  1. a. A sign on a busy three-lane street says, "USE TWO LANES GOING NORTH FROM 6 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. AND FROM 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. EXCEPT HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS. USE ONE LANE AT ALL OTHER TIMES."
  2. b. Mary owns a motorcycle. Her friend, Leo, does not know how to drive it. Mary lets Leo drive the motorcycle while Mary is sitting right behind him, giving instructions as they drive in an empty lot.
  3. c. The XYZ Chemical Company manufactures a new floor cleaner. On the label of  the bottle containing the cleaner, there are very bright colors and a cartoon of a happy person cleaning the floor. The ingredients are listed on the label, plus a warning to keep the liquid away from eyes.

1.) Possible Danger : Car Accidents / Traffic Congestion

_ According to the sign use two lanes going to north from 6:00 am to 9:30 am and from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm; except holidays and weekend use only one lane. Obviously, 6:00 am -9:30 am and 4:30 -6:30 is a peak hours or traffic. On these roads, drivers traveling at slower speeds should use the right lane, as the speed of traffic increases as you move to the left. Be sure you're not impeding other traffic by driving too slowly in your lane, as this can frustrate other drivers or cause them to make unsafe passing maneuvers. 

_ If the traveller  going to north at the specified times, the traveller must follows the laning that match the lower speed as necessary. If not, it cause car accidents, traffic congestion that result to damages of car, serious physical injuries and even order death of the driver and or the traveller as example. 

_ The caution should be noticeable by all the the drivers and travellers it should be mandated and advertise to prevent accidents. The precautions should be included in seminars of getting driver's licenses to prevent future accidents. 

 

2.) Possible Danger :  Physical Injuries

 

_ The possible danger may arise in the situation is less physical injuries. Even if Mary knew how to drive,  Leo does not know how to drive it could result to  physical injuries. If Leo surprised and or getting excited or nervous with his first driving experience, it has a tendency that he loss control of motorcycle that cause physical injuries more likely less physical injuries because they practice driving in a empty lot or good terrain. 

 

_ First time driving and or practice driving  should wear in a proper gear, having a proper terrain to practice and with professional  trainers. If not, accidents may occurs that leads to physical injuries and even worse death. 

 

3.) Possible Danger : Can cause blindness or Eye infections 

 

_ The possible danger in the third scenario given is eye infection or worse blindness. Chemicals  like disinfectant can damage to the eyes if having contact with. It must have a proper caution to prevent such serious injuries. As person if we amaze the colors, pictures and or any animations that is attractive we automatically curious and wanted to watch it nearly. As precautions the company XYZ should not included a colorful and or attractive photos and or graphics on their cleaner detergents. And the caution or warning should be at the front of the detergents and or any cleaning agents to prevent future injuries.
