Instruction: Select a topic which allows you to inform your audience of a significant aspect of a culture that is different than your own

Writing

Instruction:

  1. Select a topic which allows you to inform your audience of a significant aspect of a culture that is different than your own. Possible topics include social customs, family traditions, holidays, clothing, food, religious traditions, and sporting activities. Refer to Chapter 7 of your text as a guide.
  2. Research your topic. Be imaginative in choosing content for your speech. It is not enough to simply summarize basic information from the Internet about a country or culture. Narrow the topic by selecting one specific aspect on which to focus your ideas.
  3. Organize the main points of your speech using an informative pattern of organization. Your speech should give your audience a deeper understanding of your topic, but should not be designed to affect your audience’s beliefs, attitudes, or behavior.
  4. Provide adequate support for each main point by citing at least three credible sources in the speech. Incorporate examples, narratives, testimonial evidence, statistics, analogies, explanations, and/or definitions where appropriate. Sources must be cited orally in the speech. If you have had direct contact with a different culture, you should supplement your research with your personal experience.

One of the most interesting murals and the greatest modern artifacts describing the culture of Mexicans is the painting by San Barajas. Let us explores how to come about.

B. Background. First of all, the artwork is located in Chicano Park. The artist is San Barajas who aims at honoring the history of lowriders in San Diego's Chicano culture and the Amigos Car Club. We shall describe the mural in terms of its significance, the history behind it, and the time it took to prepare it. However, our concern is here is well explained in our thesis statement

C. Thesis statement: This study aims to investigate the cultural contents entailed in the San Barajas mural located in Chicano Park, California. We would like to know the history behind this mural and its significance to the people of Mexico.

II. Describing the Mural

Amigo San Diego painting has five cars caravanning up from 1 to 5 ending at Chicano Park from Tijuana. It was prepared by San Barajas in five months between June and November 2019. All red cars belong to Amigos Club. Some may not see the microscopic elements drawn into the mural, such as the Nearby House, which served as the social hub for the Logan Heights neighborhood for most of the twentieth century, or the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in which many people in the community congregate in prayer. The Kiosko at Chicano Park is at the top of the mural, and Aztec dancers perform there. There are plenty of reasons and importance of the mural to the community and the world at large.
