Overview

For this assignment you will complete an Annotated Bibliography and an Outline.

An Annotated Bibliography is a list of sources and includes current APA-formatted references to the peer-reviewed articles (all which must have been found through the Jerry Falwell Library that you have compiled for a research assignment. Following each reference is a brief description, summary, and evaluation of the source (see the requirements below in the instruction section).  The purpose of an Annotated Bibliography is to benefit the researcher and provide the content, relevance, and quality of the sources.

An outline will be provided at the end of the Annotated Bibliography section.  It will provide the structure and citation sources for the literature review and will be written in full sentences with APA formatted headings.

Instructions

Annotated Bibliography

You will provide an Annotated Bibliography of at least 10 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles references that you plan to use for your Literature Review: Final. This must be in current APA format with a cover page, abstract, and references. Each reference must include a summary, analysis, and reflection and must answer the questions listed below. Do not include books, book reviews, dissertations, websites, blogs, etc. All articles must be peer-reviewed and must have been published in the past 4 years.

You must follow current APA format for an annotated bibliography, including:

  • A brief description and summary of the article;
  • An evaluation of the source – is the information relevant to your research?
  • A determination of how the article will be utilized in the literature review; and
  • An assessment of the article according to the focus of the research and provide criticisms.
  • Answers to the following questions:
    • Who is the author and how are they qualified?
    • How does the source fit in the topic chosen to research?
    • Is the source helpful?
    • Too broad or too narrow?
    • How will this research fit into your research paper?

Outline

At the end of the Annotated Bibliography, beginning on a new page, you will provide a detailed Outline of your Literature Review. See the Literature Review: Outline Example provided for details regarding preparing an outline for a paper.

You must use full sentences and incorporate all of the references that you have found for the Annotated Bibliography. The outline must be in current APA format and a minimum of 2 pages of narrative.  As the outline will be a part of the annotated bibliography, a separate cover page, abstract and reference pages should not be included.

Literature Review: Outline Example

 

In the research done for the topic, you should have been able to determine some common themes. Group the themes together and begin the outline.

Literature Review: Final Submission Assignment Instructions

 

Overview

The purpose of this Literature Review is for you to create a scholarly piece of graduate-level research and writing which conforms to current APA format. Competency in current APA format is required of all Business graduates of Liberty University, as set forth by policy of both the graduate faculty and the administration.

You will write a Literature Review of 1800-2100 words (excluding the title page, abstract, and references) on a management topic approved by your instructor. The paper must be written in strict conformance to current APA standards, and must utilize at least 10 scholarly sources.

Instructions

  • The paper is to be your original work and written solely for this course. Although past papers can be minimally referenced, papers previously submitted or work from previously submitted assignments cannot be used to fulfill this assignment.
  • The paper must be written using current APA format, including a title page, an abstract, and a references list.  The Purdue Online Writing Lab has some good information on APA formatting. You can find this information on the Literature Review: Final Submission Assignment page under Literature Review: Final Submission Resource.
  • The paper must have a minimum of 1800 words and a  maximum of 2100 words.
  • It must be submitted as a Word document (.doc).
    • The finished paper must be uploaded, as an attachment, by the published deadline.
  • Do not use bullets or listing anywhere in the paper.
  • It must be written in third person.
  • Any charts, graphs, pictures, etc., must be put in an appendix and do not count toward the minimum word count.
  • No more than 1 block quote is to be used (of up to 50 words). Show block quotations of more than 39 words as follows:
    • Continue use of double spacing within the quote.
    • Indent entire blocked quote 5 spaces from left-hand margin.
    • Do not use quotation marks.
  • References must be as follows:
    • A minimum of 10 different peer-reviewed scholarly journal article references must be used.
    • All references must be from peer-reviewed journals published within the last five years.
    • Textbooks, books, dissertations, web blogs, abstracts, and other ancillary materials do not count as required references.
    • All references must be cited somewhat equally in the narrative with no references over- or under-represented.
    • Quotations must not be more than 15% of the paper – paraphrase and properly cite all material.
  • Reference Section
    • Start on a new page.
    • Double-space throughout references.
