Discusison 1 An outcome evaluation is structured research that assists in determining if the program is creating changes

Discusison 1

An outcome evaluation is structured research that assists in determining if the program is creating changes. It assesses evidence of changes made and, if there are changes, show that they are directly relevant to the program's experience. The transition of evidence base into clinical practice is crucial to providing safe, transparent, effective, and efficient healthcare and fulfilling patients, families, and society (Kristensen et al., 2016). Despite its importance, implementing research into clinical practice is challenging (Kristensen et al., 2016).

Evaluation is the most crucial step in any project to know its success and failure. Following implementing a practice change, it is vital to evaluate if the desired outcome was achieved. Peer assessment, audit, or even self-reflection can be used to assess the process and the results. Depending on the type of outcomes obtained, it may be necessary to compare the results of a study to similar findings (Curtis et al., 2017).

importance of Reporting Outcomes

The outcomes are important factors in the measurement of the conduct of practice interventions. According to Chien, evidence from research should have an implementation plan to demonstrate improved patient outcomes (Chien, 2019). Nurses utilize evidence-based decisions during their daily practice. The role of research in nursing practice dates to Florence Nightingale where she documented her concerns, implemented a treatment, documented the observations, and reported the outcomes as she cared for soldiers during World War I (Riegel et.al, 2021).

Increasingly, the quality of care is linked to the reported outcomes of the care provided. The link of quality to outcomes impacts several factors related to healthcare including reimbursement from payors, patient satisfaction and areas of resources for funding (Jones, 2016).

For my project, the outcomes reported would be a benefit to all stakeholder if positive. However, the outcome of the project would negatively impact the stakeholders at the end of the one-year program and does the health status of the participants has not improved, cost of coverage is increased related to reported health status. The purpose of my project relating to outcomes is twofold. The survey and data collection will provide reportable baseline information about utilization of benefits, health status of workers and potential risks associated with workers in a high-risk category for on-the-job injury (Webber, 2006). Another aspect of the survey, quantitative results will provide the observations for implementing the T2 prevention program at the facility. The goal of the project is intended to conduct a series of assessment surveys each quarter for a year. Each quarter the results will be aggregated and reported based on the changes of the key objections: Utilization of benefits, health status of workers and the potential risk for injury. The quantitative results reports will provide insight on the workers’ change in attitude and behaviors related to health status.
