Multidimensional Nursing Reflection Discussion

As a student, I achieved different competencies during the course learning period and gained new knowledge on patient care. In addition, the course works provide various disorders related to various body parts; hence, this helps describe personal competencies achieved during the course. Thus, below are the description of personal competencies acquired during the learning process and their impact on patient service delivery.

Competence#1

Multidimensional nursing strategies involve different patient care methods that enable providers to give clients services with different reproduction system disorders. This is achieved by identifying various multidimensional nursing care strategies such as providing uninterrupted sessions with the patients; such environments provide a safe space where patients are comfortable talking about their sexual problems and assuring them that the discussion is appropriate. Similarly, providing a safe room gives patients a sense of security regarding their sexuality issues (Palteki, 2019). It is essential to assure patients with high practitioner-patient confidentiality that help protect their privacy as a practitioner. In overall patient care, it is important to note that as a practitioner, one should not be guided by emotions when addressing patient sexual issues during and after diagnosis.

Competence#2

This competence is achieved through learning various strategies appropriate to patient care strategies for urinary system disorder. Learning to collect patient data that includes a medical background will contribute to identifying the patient's issue. If the patient has already been diagnosed with bladder dysfunction, and the treatment will be carried out according to what is needed: To provide informed consent and explanation of the procedure and encourage the patient to take plenty of water (Palteki, 2019). According to the doctor's recommendations, give sedatives and pain relievers and pay close attention to whether the patient has a history of allergy to medications, monitoring the patient's response, and monitoring vital signs.

Competence#3

Place the patient on the backrest and do hydration for the arteries. Teach the patient to adhere to their medication, avoid contact with allergens, and adequately use respiration during exercise or exercise. It involves assistance in oxygen storage and nebulization. Perform hydration in the arteries and check for essential patient symptoms. It is vital to inform the patient and their family about taking steps at home to maintain patient safety (Palteki, 2019). In order to use a metered inhaler, the family needs to know the procedure of assembling and using the inhaler to avoid further health issues. The above information is vital to me as a practitioner since it will contribute to the welfare of the patient's status during and after leaving the healthcare premises.

Competence#4

Competency in identifying the best nursing care practice for patients with lower respiratory disorders enables a practitioner to keep track of patient's health status within and outside the institution. This competency has been achieved through evaluating different care plans (Palteki, 2019), especially those with a significant condition such as thoracic surgery. In addition, depending on the patient's background, advising them to change their lifestyles, such as practicing healthy living, voiding smoking and harmful chemicals, protects them from health risks. Also, medication administration helps patients manage their illness, and medical surgery may be conducted if the conditions worsen. Understanding this type of information equips a practitioner with the knowledge necessary to maintain patient safety and improve care, thus contributing to career development.

Competence#5

Caring for patients with heart failure has been particularly concerned with technology and education. It provides the patient and their family with all the necessary information and resources to cope with this life-threatening condition (Palteki, 2019). Heart failure affects the formation or function of the heart. Thus, nursing interventions for a nursing care program at a heart failure clinic should include, among other things, priorities for monitoring acute symptoms, patient lifestyle changes, patient diet modification, medication management, and oxygen therapy, integration. Therefore, this knowledge impacts my nursing practice by providing care for patients depending on their needs.

Competence#6

Meanwhile, the hematologic condition is a medical condition that affects most of the body's functioning system; thus, care should prioritize these patients. During the learning period, this competence is achieved by providing coordinated care integrated with health and social care as a primary nursing intervention to promote patient safety and quality care in the management of blood disorders. It requires a practitioner to formulate multidimensional care that provides physical and psychological monitoring of the patients (Palteki, 2019), observing the patient's blood pressure and sugar. It will benefit the patient by ensuring they are protected from other health risks such as hypertension; hence, this knowledge will play a critical role in achieving professional goals of providing quality care.
