Student Signature Instructions to Student Date Now that you have interviewed one of your specialist stakeholders (from Assessment 1) to obtain important information about setting up your chosen operational strategy, you are to undertake the following tasks in order to gain approval to implement your chosen operational strategy: • develop an initial set-up budget; • write up an investigation report that provides your findings and recommendations regarding the feasibility of developing and implementing this new or modified operational strategy • devise a risk management plan, • develop a communication plan to communicate with all stakeholders that shall be affected in some way by this new or modified operational strategy; and • Communicate with two (2) of these stakeholders by adopting the communication medium from the communication plan. 123 TMP C – Assessment Template – Portfolio of Evidence v1.2 Page 1 of 9 Document1 Materials to be supplied: All students will be provided with the Investigation Report template to complete. Students using the SIM Co. simulated workplace scenario are to also refer to the following documents in order to successfully complete this assessment: • Appendix 1 – SIM Co. simulated workplace scenario • Appendix 2 – SIM Co. Policy & Procedures Manual Work, Health and Safety: • Students have a duty of care when interacting with other students, work colleagues and themselves and must adhere to all WHS guidelines provided by TAFE Qld and/or their workplace. • Online students need to ensure they undertake a work health and safety check of their learning and assessment environment prior to the commencement of any learning of assessment and address any WHS hazards appropriately. Assessment Criteria: To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will require you to attach appropriate evidence in your portfolio that demonstrates the following key skills/tasks/knowledge to an acceptable industry standard: • this assessment task document completed as required; • prepared initial set up budget; • prepared investigation report that documents these findings and makes recommendations based on the analysis of these findings; • prepared risk contingency plan to overcome potential risks as part of the investigation report; • prepared communication plan to ensure all those that may be affected by this operational planning scenario are informed; and • obtain approvals to implement the workplace or SIM Co. simulated workplace scenario; • evidence of two communication mediums advising key stakeholders of this operational strategy. Number of Attempts: You will receive up to two (2) attempts at this assessment task. Should your 1st attempt be unsatisfactory (U), your teacher will provide feedback and discuss the relevant sections / questions with you and will arrange a due date for the submission of your 2nd attempt. If your 2nd submission is unsatisfactory (U), or you fail to submit a 2nd attempt, you will receive an overall unsatisfactory result for this assessment task. Only one reassessment attempt may be granted for each assessment task. Students that have elected to adopt an actual operational strategy are to access the appropriate workplace information including policies and procedures, workplace personnel, and other appropriate workplace information. However, students that have elected to adopt the SIM Co simulated workplace scenario are to access the detailed information about SIM Co. in the appendices attached to this assessment. In order to complete the assessment, students must address all parts of the detailed assessment instructions provided below and collate this evidence into a portfolio that is to be submitted. Students are to complete this assessment by the due date as specified in the Connect LMS offering. You are able to grant extensions within the study period; however, no extensions are allowed beyond the close of study, unless for exceptional circumstances. Students are to provide written evidence of such exceptional circumstances to be granted an extension beyond the close of study. You are able to provide verbal and written assistance to students. This may be in the form of answering any questions students may have or allowing students to submit one (1) written draft via e-mail for you to review prior to submission. Students also have the opportunity to gain additional support by contacting ‘Studiosity’. You will need to ensure all students are aware of this external service. Ensure you provide balanced feedback to students on the evidence they provide. This feedback is to be recorded on the marking criteria sheet provided and uploaded to Connect. Note to Student An overview of all Assessment Tasks relevant to this unit is located in the Unit Study Guide. 123 TMP C – Assessment Template - Portfolio of Evidence v1.2 Page 3 of 9 Document1 Instructions to Students: Part A – Initial Set up Budget: You are to prepare an initial setup budget showing the expenses required to initially set up the required resources for the new or modified operational strategy that you have chosen in the actual workplace or the e-commerce strategy based on the information provided in the SIM Co Simulated Workplace. The initial setup budget needs to include the wages and salaries of the staff employed to oversee this new strategy along with any training and recruitment costs. Also ensure you include other costs such as website costs, plant and equipment expenses as well as warehouse and office expenses. Record this initial budget information in the initial budget template provided below. If you have adopted the SIM Co e-commerce strategy then this will be the Finance Manager. You are to write your report by following the report format and guiding comments in green font below. Make sure you delete all reference to the green guiding comments prior to submission: • Introduction – providing background information and the reason for this investigation • Method of Investigation – that describes a general statement about the purpose of this investigation and a description of the investigation methods used under the following subheadings: • • − Relevant Legislation: Identify the relevant legislation and how they were identified as relevant − Company Policies and Procedures: Identify the relevant company policies and procedures and how they were identified as relevant − Interviews: Identify who you interviewed and why they were chosen to be interviewed − Financials: Identify what budget was analysed and what the profitability projection index measures Findings – discuss your findings and whether or not they provide sufficient opportunities to implement the e-commerce strategy and/or the requirements identified − Relevant Legislation: What needs to be done to ensure the identified legislation is being complied with? − Company Policies and Procedures: What needs to be done to ensure the identified company policies and procedures are being met? − Interviews: What were the main points to take away from these interviews? − Analysis of Financials: How healthy is the current budget and what is the profitability projection index showing? Recommendations – make an appropriate recommendation to senior management based on these findings. For the SIM Co workplace scenario, this will be James Crow, Director. If you have chosen the SIM Co. workplace scenario then you will find information in Appendix 1 – SIM Co Simulated Workplace under the heading Risks to Implementation. Determine suitable risk mitigation strategies and activities for high and medium risks only by completing the Risk Contingency Plan below. Make sure you clearly identify each risk, record the risk mitigation strategy, and who will be responsible for overseeing each strategy.
