The USA government has initiated many foreign policies aimed at improving the relationship with our countries. Some of the USA government's significant policies include the multinational and bilateral trade policy, environmental policy, and political policy (Jeffrey & Eisenst, 2016). The primary goal of implementing these policies is to help the U.S. government and other governments to work together to deal with issues that face the two countries or even a region.

The USA government found that the Afghanistan government to be a central pillar for the fight against terrorists. Thus, the USA government has to alter the military engagement policy to a more collaborative policy. The USA government reached out to the Afghanistan government to fight al-Qaeda, ISIS, and its affiliates. The USA government, to achieve this, focused on providing support to help Afghanistan its economy, security, and government structure. The USA-Afghanistan relationship has been enabled by sighing several peace agreements, with the last being the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) in 2012 and the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) that was signed in 2014 (Fishstein, 2016). These security agreements are meant to increase the mutual security understanding in the two countries.

The USA-Afghanistan relationship agreement not only focused on signing the war and peace agreement but also on improving other issues such as economic, political, bilateral relationships. The US-Afghanistan relations resulted in the birth of bilateral economic relations. In 2004, Afghanistan and the USA signed the first Trade and Agreement Framework Agreement (TIFA). The primary goal of TIFA was to facilitate the bilateral trade and investment forum between the two countries. Over the period, the USA export to Afghanistan has grown by more than 525% in 14 years.

The US-Afghanistan relationship has played a significant role in promoting political stability in Afghanistan. For instance, following the controversial 2014 Afghanistan Presidential election, the USA provided financial support to the country and called up the U.N. national audits for a vote to mediate for political agreement; this played a significant role in creating the National Unity Government. The USA government has also played a considerable role in creating a bilateral relationship (Thomas, 2018). The USA government allowed Afghanistan to continue to hold its embassy in the USA. In 2017, the government of the USA created the U.S. embassy in Afghanistan, and Ambassador John Bass was named to occupy the office.

Despite the several advantages of the U.S. Military Engagement alteration to include support for Afghanistan to form its operational government structure and defense, this change has some challenges. The primary problem that faced this policy alteration was the loss of lives. Despite getting support from the Afghan community, the USA and allay nations continued to lose troops in this operation.
