Racism began a long time ago where the local laws discriminated against indentured blacks. The black and the white people would be indentured alongside each other, but the indentured black would be enslaved while the white would be released.  During the time of Nathaniel Bacon, politicians created animosity between the poor blacks and whites.  They believed that the whites were not supposed to be considered slaves no matter how low they were ("Kanopy", 2021). There was the creation of whiteness where the poor whites were behind their policies.  There was Bacon’s rebellion in 1676 among the poor whites and blacks.  The politicians responded by dividing the two races, and this led to more uprisings in the future. This considered the whites as more superior than the blacks denying the blacks equal opportunities as the whites.

The discrimination that happened during the time of Bacon was caused by the politicians, which still happens today.  The politicians use the concept of divide and rule. The politicians have been promoting racism and backing it up by scapegoating that blacks have more access to social services. This has resulted in anger among the blacks. The crimes have also be associated with the blacks, where more black people are jailed due to petty mistakes. The politicians would not pass a law that guarantees equality to remain effective with their political parties. This is the reason why some political parties are stronger than others because they are able to divide and rule.

The film talks about black life matters. Causey argues that the changes will come from the bottom up or from the grassroots. There are many incidences where the police have been involved in killing innocent black people for petty mistakes. There have been many protests as people demand the rights of black people to be valued. The police brutality leaves many injured and dead. Some of the white police do not have humanity, and they can use all that they have an intimidating people. Gorge Floyd is a good example of the black people who have suffered at the hands of the white police. This shows that the life of black people is not respected and valued. His death created a lot of tension as people demanded an explanation on why such could happen. The lives of black people are highly neglected.

The black people have been slaves of the white people for a long time. They have been discriminated against in the workplace where certain job positions cannot be located to the lack of people claiming that the black people do not have the managerial skills ("Kanopy", 2021). Bullying has also been experienced in schools where black children are not treated in the same manner as white students.  There are many life experiences narrated by different people concerning their life in high school, where they used to be bullied by other students. This kills the student's morale as he or she thinks that society is not fair in judging one capability on races.       

To stop the spirit of racism, the government needs to put more emphasis on it by developing policies to deal with the racists. The black people are not supposed to be the slaves of the white people, where good jobs even in the government are offered to the white people, and black people are given jobs with less influence. The political parties also need to give equal opportunities to all candidates. The humanitarian and religious groups need to discourage racism in society. There is the need to create a society that does not discriminate and offers support to all people regardless of color.
