Step 1

Choose ONE work from the LISTEN to the Experts ART Table  

 

General length/format requirements: double or 1.5 spacing, 11 or 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, 350-450 words, approximately 1 page.

Please use the space you need to give me full, thoughtful answers to the questions. If you are answering everything in 3 sentences, that is way too brief. Allow yourself 3-5 sentences to explain what you are seeing and what the meaning is (questions #2 & #4).  

 

Step 2

Analyze  the piece using the ELEMENTS of ART.  Include the following: 1. The title of the work and the artist. (Titles of artworks are capitalized and always italicized or in quotation marks.) 2. Describe what you see in the art piece.  Make sure to USE the elements of art to describe what you see and discuss:   LINE quality, use of SHAPE or FORM or SPACE, TEXTURE, VALUE of light and shadow, COLOR 3. Which Element of Art is most obvious to you in the work? 4. Describe how the artist uses the Elements of Art to give the viewer a certain feeling, emotion or meaning.
