Some religions remained largely oral until late modernity, and others created sacred texts beginning thousands of years ago. What differences does it seem that use of written language introduced into mystic practices? Are there any clear distinctions between mystical religious practices based on the use or non-use of written texts?
What is the relationship between meditation and mysticism, and does that relationship remain stable from religion to religion? Why?
Of the religions we have studied, which two have the most closely connected history? Does this historical connection also make their mystical traditions and practices the most alike of all these religions? How/how not?
