Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to select a technology company of your choosing, to highlight its history, influence on technology at-large, and your research-based suggestions on how it might continue to thrive in light of current technological trends.

Instructions

This assignment is comprised of two parts:

Part I: Proposal (25 marks)

Within your proposal, you will provide a simple five-part outline of your planned approach, including:

The name of your selected company: Apple Inc.
The year in which your selected company was founded
The area of technology that your company operates in (i.e., communications technology, consumer products, transportation / automotive / aerospace technology, software and information technology, etc.)
A summary of your planned recommendation for future success (One paragraph)
A formatted bibliography containing three academic / online sources that you used to help develop your proposal

Part II: Historical Foundations, Influence, and Recommendations for the Future Essay (30 marks)

Based on your Proposal, write an essay that answers the following questions. Write essay in paragraphs that flow, rather than a question and answer format. You can use headings to divide the content if you prefer. It is important that each answer to the below questions is clear.

What is the name of your selected company?
What area of technology does your company operate in? (i.e., communications technology, consumer products, transportation / automotive / aerospace technology, software and information technology, etc.)
What is the developmental history of your selected company?
What impact has your selected company had on its field and technology at-large?
In light of current and future technological trends, how would you suggest your selected company continue to evolve and innovate in the marketplace to ensure future success?

Your essay must be between 1000 and 1500 words. You should use an academic formatting style of your choosing for writing and formatting. (i.e. – MLA [Modern Language Association], APA [American Psychological Association], the Chicago style, etc.)
