Project Description: Downtown Restaurant, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is looking to establish a web presence

Project Management

Project Description:
Downtown Restaurant, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is looking to establish a web presence. The restaurant is a new start-up restaurant that will be opening in the next two months. After investigating all of the local web development companies in the Atlanta area, the owners Peggy Smith and Michael Brown, have contracted you to develop this website.

The owners would like a website (4 page minimum/6 page maximum) to advertise their restaurant. You must select the type of markup, design, architecture, and content that is appropriate for Downtown Restaurant. You will be expected to demonstrate what you have learned in PRG111, 249, and 250 in the site that you design. The web site that you create should be useful, usable, well designed, cleanly marked up, contain significant content, and be targeted to the specific audience.

Website Requirements
While the goal of this project to be creative and practice your web design/development skills, there are a few minimum requirements that the website has to have:

At least four pages but no more than six pages
At least six images used throughout the website (remember to include proper alt tags and copyright free images)
Standard navigation scheme
Incorporate an external style sheet (internal or inline styles can be used as well)
One form
One page must integrate JavaScript. This can be accomplished through an image rollover, image slide show, or even have a alert box for form validation.
Week #4's Assignment:

Website Production and Presentation (due Week #4)
Over the last three weeks, you have been designing a website for Downtown Restaurant. Most web developers go through the process you went through (Design Rationale, Building the Site, and Usability Testing). The last step is typically placing the website in production (releasing the site to the public). While you are not going to post the website to the Internet, you will “release to the public” by sharing the site with your instructor and presenting the site to the class.

For this week’s assignment there are two parts:

Project Production
In one zip file, include all of the files (.html, images, .css, etc.) required to view your website. Submit this this zip file to the submission area.

Project Presentation
As a future web developer, you will want to build a portfolio of websites to showcase your work. For the Project Presentation, you will use Jing (a free desktop recording utility) to record a no more than 5 minute video highlighting your website.

To record your presentation, follow these steps:

Download the Jing software by visiting: Jing will work on both Mac and PC platforms.
After installing Jing, you will have to complete a free registration (see screen shot below).

Launch your website within an Internet browser.
Launch the Jing software (if it did not already open) and click the plus (“+” sign) to begin capture.

Select the entire website so it can be displayed in your video and press the Record Video button.
Begin recording your presentation. This presentation should highlight your website and some of the best features. Note: Jing only allows for 5 minutes to be captured. Therefore, you will presentation cannot last more than 5 minutes.

After finishing your presentation, press the stop button
Finally, your presentation is ready to be saved and submitted. Press the save button and save the video to your desktop. Upload this .swf file to the Project Presentation submission area.
Save and submit your work as instructed below.
