The development of a testable research question is an integral first step in developing an effective research question or set of questions. It forms the foundation upon which the remaining stages of the process are built. Getting this step right will help ensure the success of future steps.

In this activity, you will develop the research question that you will use for the assignments throughout this course.

Submit the following:

1. General Topic of Interest
2. Research Objective/Purpose: “Why” of the research
   • Remember that this can be addressed by completing the sentence, "The purpose of this study is . . ."
3. Research Question(s): “What” of the research
   • Remember that this can be addressed by completing the sentence, "I wonder if/how..."

Note: It is a normal part of the iterative process of research to revise and refine the research question.

Your instructor will give you feedback about your Research Question in Module 1 Developing Your Research Question assignment. For this Research Roundtable, you will share your preliminary Research Question with your classmates for feedback. You, in turn, will provide feedback to your classmates. This is an opportunity to fine-tune your Research Question before submitting it to your instructor.

Post your work by the fourth day of the module week. Be sure to address all of the required elements listed thoroughly. All posts should be free of spelling and grammar mistakes.

Return at least once later in the module week to review two or more of your classmates' Research Question. Provide feedback to a classmate that has not received any. Once all classmates have received feedback, you may provide additional comments to others.
