Assignment: the purpose of book review is to gain further understanding of the range of attitudes, messages and philosophies found in children’s publications that can affect children with exceptionalities, their families and caregivers. In order to increase your knowledge of available resources and the range of attitudes and philosophies that can occur in children’s literature, you are required to complete a book review. 

You are responsible for locating/obtaining a children’s book about a child with special needs. You will submit a typed report that summarizes these attitudes and philosophies as it pertains to Early Childhood Educators.

 Your report must include the following sections:

 

1. Introduction (1/2 page plus photos)

Your introduction is the basis of your paper.  It establishes the context for your reader. Introduce the assignment and write a purpose statement (the purpose of this assignment is to…). Be sure to explain what will be included in the paper.

6. Summary (1/2 page)

In this section you will wrap up the assignment. Reiterate any main points and remind the reader what was discussed in the paper. You will want to leave the reader satisfied.

 Reference Include a reference page where you list any references used within the paper.

Format Typed, double spaced, 12 point font (preferably Times Roman or Arial), 5 pages max that includes the headings for each of the sections.
