GETTING STARTED
•   Open the file IL_AC16_7b_FirstLastName_1.accdb, available for download from the SAM website.
•   Save the file as IL_AC16_7b_FirstLastName_2.accdb by changing the “1” to a “2”.
o   Hint: If you do not see the .accdb file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.
•   Open the _GradingInfoTable table and ensure that your first and last name is displayed as the first record in the table. If the table does not contain your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS
1.   Open the blank form titled LocationEntry in Design View and set the Record Source property to the Locations table. Save and close the form.
2.   Open the OrganizationEntry form in Design View, then open the Field List. Add all fields from the Organizations table to the middle of the form. Select all controls in the form and move them to the approximate location shown in Figure 1 on the next page. Save the form and close it.

3.   Open the LocationDeposits form in Design View. On the Ribbon, make sure the Use Control Wizards button is selected so that controls that have associated wizards are available.

Add a subform control to the form with the following options:
a.   The subform should be added below the LocZip control at about the 1" mark on the horizontal ruler and the 2" mark on the vertical ruler.
b.   The subform should be based on the Deposits table and contain the following fields: DepositNo, DepositDate, Weight, and LocID (in that order).
c.   Connect the subform to the main form with the LocationID field.
d.   Name the subform DepositsSubform.
Save the form without closing it.
4.   While still viewing the LocationDeposits form in Design View, open the Form Header section and add a title to the left side of the form with the following options:
a.   Make the caption of the title label read Salvage Location Deposits. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
b.   Format the new Salvage Location Deposits label in 20 pt. font size and Black font color (2nd column, 1st row in the Standard Colors palette).
c.   Resize the label so that its right edge is located at approximately the 4" mark on the horizontal ruler.
Save the form without closing it.
5.   While still viewing the LocationDeposits form in Design View, add a combo box to the Form Header section (at approximately the 6" mark on the horizontal ruler) with the following options:
a.   The combo box should be used to find records in the form.
b.   Select LocationID and LocName (in that order) as the fields for the combo box.
c.   Hide the key column, then resize the LocName column to be just wide enough to show all entries clearly.
d.   Label the combo box Find Location:. (Hint: Include the colon.)
e.   Change the font color of the Find Location: label to Purple (last column, last row in the Standard Colors palette).
Save the form without closing it.
6.   While still viewing the LocationDeposits form in Design View, add a command button to the Form Footer section (at approximately the 6" mark on the horizontal ruler) with the following options:
a.   The button should use record operations to print a record.
b.   The text on the button should read Print. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
c.   The meaningful name of the button should be cmdPrint. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
Save the form, then view it in Form View.
7.   While still viewing the LocationDeposits form in Form View, resize the Weight column width in the subform to 14.
The LocationDeposits form should match Figure 2 on the next page. Save and close the LocationDeposits form.

8.   Open the VolunteerEntry form in Design View. Select the six labels in the Detail section, then align their edges using the Right option. Select the six text box controls in the form, then align their edges using the Left option. Confirm the form matches Figure 3 on the next page, then save and close the VolunteerEntry form.

9.   Create a blank form and save it with the name SalvageInfo.
10.   View the SalvageInfo form in Layout View, add a tab control to the form, then modify it as described below:
a.   Change the Name property of the first tab to Locations. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
b.   Change the Name property of the second tab to Organizations. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
11.   With the SalvageInfo form still open in Layout View, click on the Locations tab and add a command button with the following options:
a.   The button should use form operations to open the LocationEntry form.
b.   The LocationEntry form should open and show all records. (Hint: This is the default option in the Command Button Wizard.)
c.   The text on the button should read Location Entry. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
d.   The meaningful name of the button should be cmdLocationEntry. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
e.   The command button should be moved and resized as needed as shown in Figure 4 below.
Save and close the SalvageInfo form.

12.   Open the VolunteersByOrganization form in Form View. Using the OrgName combo box, change the OrgName field in the first record (Benjamin Mahring) from “Heartland Users Group” to Vicksburg Volunteers.
13.   Switch to viewing the VolunteersByOrganization form in Design View, then change the Row Source of the OrgName combo box to SortedOrganizations.
14.   Expand the size of the Detail section so the bottom edge of the section reaches the 3" mark on the vertical ruler.
15.   Using the Option Group Wizard, add an option group to the form and position it under the OrgName combo box (as shown in Figure 5 on the next page) with the following options:
a.   The label names should be 1, 2, 3, and 4. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
b.   Do not choose a default option.
c.   The values should also be 1, 2, 3, and 4 to correspond to their labels with the same names.
d.   Store the value in the TeamAssignment field.
e.   Choose option buttons with a Flat style.
f.   Enter Team Assignment Number as the caption for the option group.
16.   Switch to viewing the VolunteersByOrganization form in Form View, then select 3 as the Team Assignment Number for the first record (Benjamin Mahring) as shown in Figure 5 below.

Save and close any open objects in your database. Compact and repair your database, close it, then exit Access. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
