Assignment Instructions:

  1. Continue with the previously selected Canadian company; you will need to provide a link to the website with your submission, and as part of your Citations.
  2. Locate the company’s corporate strategic plan and attach the plan to your assignment Citations (saved as a PDF) and provide a link to it on the website.  If you cannot locate the corporate strategic plan, but there is enough information provided on the company website to answer the questions below, please attach the applicable information to your assignment and provide a link to same.
  3. Using a report format of your choice, including cover page, table of contents, introduction, conclusion and citations, answer the following questions about the company you selected.  Use Arial, Calibri or Verdana font and minimally, 11 pt in size.

 

Assignment Questions:

 

Part 1 – Strategy (4 marks)

 

  1. Identify the type and sub-type of corporate strategy you recommend for your company (or a portion of the company) to pursue.
  2. Provide a brief overview of your proposed corporate strategy identified above.  Be specific to your company and explain the rationale for this approach.

 

Part 2 – Aligning HR with Strategy (18 marks)

 

  1. Identify specific HR objectives to achieve the corporate strategy identified in Part 1 above.  Clearly state your assumptions.
  2. Develop an implementation plan to achieve the HR objectives identified in Part 2a) above.  Include key milestones with three related action items.
  3. Identify metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of your implementation plan.
  4. Identify the specific HR activities/actions to ensure the organization’s values are embedded in the implementation plan.

 

Part 3 – Critical Analysis (4 marks)
