  1. The introduction of automation singles out certain subpopulations because it requires those subpopulations to create the product. The case study notes that companies don’t want to release employees when their company is faced with a slowdown of sales, this is due to the fact that training an employee to do their current job in that company is expensive and difficult to do. Therefore, it is better for the company to not fire that employee and instead keep them.

  2. HR can work to keep these people employed and to work with local and federal government to pass legislation that protects these workers. It might be beneficial to offer classes in high school that help prefer individuals for these kinds of jobs in the future.

  3. Employers can try to offer employees the ability to advance in their field and not be stuck doing the same job forever. Employees love the ability to have an opportunity to move up in their careers. I believe that just sticking someone in the same job for 20+ years is a travesty and does not offer these people to grow as individuals. It is important to be challenged and to learn new things in your job.

  4. Human labor hasn’t become redundant and our skill obsolete because technology has offered us the ability to gain better expertise, judgement, and creativity. As the human species, we also are always looking for something new through our ability to never have enough. This leads us to always wanting more and therefore finding ways to get there.
