PBH 323: Unnatural Causes Reaction Paper

The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to examine in depth the connection between health equity and poor health. Based on the video, Unnatural Causes: In sickness and in wealth, you will be writing a reaction paper in light of what you have learned. To assist with the development of this paper, you may draw on course readings, discussions and your review of relevant literature, but this should be a reflective paper sharing your thoughts and reactions about the content of the video.

Overview of Unnatural Causes Reaction Paper

UNNATURAL CAUSES is a four?hour series that presents stories across the nation that suggest there is much more to our health than bad habits, health care, or unlucky genes. The social circumstances in which we are born, live, and work can actually get under our skin and disrupt our physiology as much as germs and viruses. The opening episode, “In sickness and in wealth,” presents the series’ overarching themes and provides a deeper exploration of how social conditions affect population health and how some communities are extending their lives by improving them.
