Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses.

By Day 1 of Week One, you will be assigned a topic from the three options below for this discussion.  In your initial post , include specific examples and a minimum of two scholarly references, excluding textbooks, to support your initial post.
 

Include your topic in your discussion post.
 

Option 1:
Explain the concept of “real time analytics”, the benefits, and the cautions that must be taken to avoid “false positive” alerts.
 

Option 2:
Compare and contrast the various data analytics techniques, and discuss the ways they are used in health care.
 

Option 3:
Explain how inferential statistics differ from descriptive statistics, why inferential statistical methods are such a significant aspect of data analytics work, and identify common inferential statistical methods.
 

Initial Post: Your initial post should be a minimum of 250 to 300 words. In addition to the textbook, utilize a minimum of two scholarly sources to support your points. Cite and reference your sources in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.  
 

Guided Response:  After reading your fellow classmates’ posts, respond to one classmate assigned to each of the other two topic options.   What additional information would you include in the discussion and why?  In addition, ask a follow-up question to at least two of your peers by Day 7.  Your three required posts must be on three different days of the week.
