Extended Paragraph Outline Assignment Writing an effective topic sentence is extremely important if one intends to develop a persuasive paragraph. By following the Writing Process as described in Chapter 18 you can generate ideas, organize into an outline, draft and produce an effective final extended paragraph.

Be sure to follow these steps to ensure you generate ideas and a topic sentence which answer the question.

These two writing topics are based on the reading "How to Get Happily Married" in Unit V under the heading "Major Readings."  

Writing Topics:

1. There are many women in society today who do not get married. Speculate on the reasons they do not.
2. Many people say that men are not as likely to marry early. Do you agree or disagree with this statement. Why?

Instructions:

A paragraph outline is a PLAN for a paragraph. Choose one writing topic. Go through the writing process to help you generate ideas. Organize your points into an outline, .draft and revise a final copy of an extended paragraph OUTLINE.
