Answer:

1. Popular culture is basically the belief system, morals, values of any society which are gradually develop by people of a particular community or society which spreads and gains acceptance making it popular in nature. So, it emerges from the people and it is their autonomous mode of expression rather than being imposed. Anything imposed cannot sustain for a long period of time and culture is something which cannot be imposed as it needs mental acceptance.

2. Commercialization and industrialization exerts influence on popular cultures by making it even more competitive and striving towards excellence. After industrialization, the workers from rural areas shifted to urban and semi urban areas and created their own culture which required certain goods. This further created commercialization in the areas as products were developed and upgraded as per the needs of people which further enhanced sense of competitiveness in the market. Popular culture does not reduce culture to commodities rather it creates a universal market where people from around the world can have access to different cultures which can be valuable. The universal market can give us diversity in all fields giving lots of option to choose. Yes, marketability and profitability produce quality art as it gives motivation to artist also which encourages them to improve and give their best to world along with increasing business perspective. Things do not work in isolation while they are interconnected and have impact on other things also.

3. Since popular culture is one which has acceptance of mass and emerges from the people itself, it do not impose itself. Popular culture can be used to control the people but it cannot last for long as it will lead to a development of rebellious attitude in people. It can be used to make people accept the ideas and values which are dominating but in a society but can’t be imposed. This process of developing the acceptance is gradual and not a one day work. Culture is spontaneous genuine burst of creativity since then only it is termed as culture whereas if it had been imposed or exerted would only lead to rebels and devastating state.
