A reflection paper is a chance for you to reflect on the materials from the learning unit

Writing

A reflection paper is a chance for you to reflect on the materials from the learning unit. DO NOT research any of the materials from the unit. Instead, work with your own understanding of the materials to create meaning for the learning unit. For Unit four Reflection, Write a 500 word reflection paper where you outline the change brought upon by the Enlightenment. What changed between the pre-modern and modern societies? Why did it change? How did those changes lead to a new way of understanding the world? What values were established or questioned? How did Eastern and Western thought change? While you should not answer all of those questions, one or two of them should guide your essay. Then, after establishing an understanding of the changes, compare the ideas of one of the authors from this unit (Hobbes, Locke, or de Grouchy) to the ideas presented in one of the previous units -- units one, two, or three. Be sure to quote from and reference specific materials from the Learning Unit. DO NOT do outside research (Google, etc.). The paper must be double spaced with a standard Ariel OR Times New Roman 12 point font. Paragraphs must be left justified and indented. You must have a proper heading in MLA style. Please review general MLA format here: General Format // Purdue Writing Lab . Please review the assignment rubric carefully to see how your work will be graded. In this class, I use a rubric to grade all assignments. This class also uses the Turnitin similarity report system. These reflection papers are not research papers. You may cite a few things from the unit but you should not be overciting. Papers with a Turnitin scores above 20% may not be accepted. Papers above 20% may be flagged for plagiarism.
