kW (Excluding chiller systems)
· Tariff of natural gas = 1.9 S$/kg
· Peak time (7am to 11pm) electricity tariff = 0.28 $/kWh
· Off Peak time (11pam to 7am) electricity tariff = 0.18 $/kWh
· Electricity demand charge = 8 $/kW per month
· Plant operating hour = 8760 hrs/year
· You need to propose CHP systems for potential energy and cost savings
· Type of CHP plant: Natural gas fired reciprocating engine
· Assume, net electricity generation efficiency of CHP plant = 41.1%
· Assume, air-to-fuel ratio for the gas engine = 31:1
· You need to propose new absorption chiller to utilize the available excess
heat energy of the exhaust gas, if any. Assume proposed absorption chiller
COP = 0.9
· Implementation cost for CHP plant = $2000/kW capacity
· Implementation cost for absorption chiller system = $1800/RT capacity

features of your proposed system(s)? As an Energy Engineer, which of the
above options you will recommend? Justify your selection.
