Your task is to write an investment analysis report on Ideko Corporation, which is the case study in Chapter

19 of Berk and DeMarzo (a copy of the case study chapter is attached). Use as many of the valuation

methods that we have learned in this course as you think relevant. Please give an investment

recommendation (buy/hold/sell) and explain your reasoning for this.

The objective of this assignment is to test valuation skills and to give you the opportunity to develop deep

expertise on a specific company. The grading for this project will reflect the quality of the quantitative

analysis as well as the quality of the narrative, which is an important element of an investment analyst’s

function.

- This report should not be an academic report. It should be written in the style of an investment analyst

working for a broker or investment bank, or a financial journalist.

- The report should not exceed 3000 words in length (excluding appendices). Students may find it helpful to

report intricate workings in appendices or to include more detailed tables from which only the key

elements are included in the report itself. However, the purpose of the appendix is to provide support

documentation, so the core messages and key insights should appear in the main report and not in an

appendix.

- This is an individual assignment, so reports which are duplicates of each other or are very similar will be

penalised.
