The interview method has a long and distinguished history in qualitative inquiry across the social sciences as it is also well-known in psychology. As this is more of a personal way for researchers to compared questionnaires. The interviewer can have a way to ask supplement questions to the participant, and depending on how the interview goes, the participant can ask questions to the interviewer. The qualitative interview affords the potential to study social change. That is, because the method calls upon individuals to make meaning of life events and experiences, it produces con- tent that can be analyzed for its relation to larger cultural discourses and narratives (Frost et al, 2020). One of the major social change that has been the focus of it all is the meaning of sexual diversity and the rights that should be given to all the individuals in the LGBQT+ community who identify themselves as sexual minorities. An example that is given in the article is how someone that the coming of age of a sexual minority person in the U.S. in the 2010 and on is massively different from someone that of sexual minority person in the 1960s. Back then homosexuality was not welcomed and was criminalized by many and it was known as a mental disorder for the ones that identified themselves as part of this community.
