1)A Type I error is a greater concern than a Type II error

Writing

1)A Type I error is a greater concern than a Type II error. Agree or disagree with this statement and use examples to support your position. Choose a classmate with an opposing view and try to respectfully persuade them to your point of view. A Type II error, on the contrary, occurs when you fail to reject the null hypothesis when you should have. In high school, my AP Statistics teacher taught us to remember that in a Type 2 error you fail 2 reject. In the example we’ve been working with, a Type II error would be failing to convict someone who is guilty and therefore should have been convicted. A Type II error can also be considered a false negative, as you are falsely claiming that there is not a statistically significant difference between the variables at hand when there in fact is. 2. I believe the importance of the null false fail or alternative false acceptance is contextual. A null fail on the innocent defendant has just as much impact as an alternative acceptance of a guilty defendant. Both types of fails are equally important in my mind especially when the criteria for accepting either is statistically end to end with the refusal of the other hypothesis
