Sociology

For this week you watched the video by Trevor Noah on his book “Born a crime”, in which he talks about his own experiences of growing up as a young boy in South Africa during the apartheid. This was a time of strict racial segregation, which impacted all aspects of life. He then recounts his life in America where he experienced race completely differently. His experiences are very interesting because he experienced race in two different parts of the world, in different times. Explain briefly how he experienced race in South Africa vs America and how he was placed into different racial categories in South Africa and in America and how that impacted his close relationships and his social life in general. Has your own experience with race been similar to his or has it been different? Analyze and reflect on your own conception of race and how racial categories impact daily life.

Ps: I dont have the book neither the video but there are many websites that talk about the summary of them.
