The Amazon supply chain refers to the elements that involve product warehousing, inventory management, pricing, and delivering items. To ensure product availability, Amazon offers its sellers two options, fulfillment by merchants who will take care of product storage and shipping to customers. The second option is fulfillment by Amazon where orders are received and shipped by one of their fulfillment centers. When a customer shops online, their order is received, pulled, fulfilled, and shipped out on either same day, one-day, or two-day delivery.
Amazon’s supply change has a competitive advantage because it has the ability to fulfill orders on the same day, one day, or two days. Amazon has roughly about 110 fulfillment centers across the country and even more globally. Another competitive advantage is that Amazon manages and ships its own inventory and inventories of other companies.
I think the additional research that the consulting team should gather and analyze is what causes all these problems. Additional fact-finding must take place for the consulting team to fully analyze the problem at hand. If floor staff are being overworked or are scared of not meeting their daily goals then changes need to happen.

According to the interactive analysis, Amazon's supply chain makes it possible to purchase and receive a broad variety of goods with same-say, one-day, or two-day delivery. Low prices, a large selection of products, and speedy delivery are the core value propositions of Amazon. Amazon gained its competitive advantage by investing millions in robots to help their employees work easier and to provide speedy delivery to their customers. This investment allowed Amazon to acquire more business and create job security.

Not only should the consulting team focus on technology, data, and processes, but they also need to research the root cause of the injuries the Amazon operations team is experiencing. By reevaluating the as-is process flow, the consulting firm can confirm if Amazon is meeting standard OSHA requirements while the workforce works with the robots; ensuring that the health of the employees is not compromised. Although the intent of investing in robots was to improve business, if the robots are doing more harm than good, Amazon can lose its competitive advantage. Thus, decreasing sales and profits in the long run.
One recommendation the consulting team can suggest to resolve the internal risks to the supply chain and mitigate the conflict between labor and senior management is to unionize the operations workforce. Executing a collective bargaining agreement could be an improvement. A collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is a written legal contract between an employer and a union representing the employees. This agreement aims to improve the working and living conditions of workers and their families and to reduce the incidence of industrial action by establishing mechanisms to resolve labor disputes Bottom of Form
