OL 635 Final Project: Consulting Business Owner Analysis

Overview

The final project for this course is a consulting business owner analysis. This is a personal analysis of you as a consulting business owner. It will evolve over time, as occurs with any business plan. You will review discussion posts, journals, and other work from throughout the term to define your strategies and approach. Describe and document how you can capitalize on your strengths and overcome weaknesses as a consultant. This assignment will show you and your instructor what type of consultant you will be. You might want to think of your paper as providing enough sufficient detail to convince an “investor” to support your efforts.

Main Elements

Your analysis should cover the key points of a business plan and include these elements:

  • Your company description including services provided, markets, problems being addressed, and the value provided to your prospective clients
  • Your market position based on your SWOT analysis and other research, such as the competitive positioning
  • Your marketing plan
  • Plan for pricing and revenue targets for the first and fifth years
  • Organization plan (e.g., sole proprietor, partners, or teaming)
  • Business launch plan that should consider your own self-assessment as your readiness to go to market as a consultant. Are you ready to go to market now, or what would you like to accomplish before launching the business?

Final Project

Format

In Module Nine, you will submit your final analysis. It should be a complete, polished artifact containing all of the main elements required. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. Your analysis should be a minimum of 10 pages in length, not including the cover page and references. This milestone will be graded using the rubric below.
