English 112: The Forbidden Topic List Not all topics are suitable for an English 112 research paper. Instead of academic research, some topics are primarily based upon individual morality, ethics, or religion. Such topics might be appropriate for a philosophy or religion class, but arguing them in this class proves problematic. Other topics are just too complex for a 4-6 page paper. Chances are, these topics cannot be argued fairly and comprehensively given the length of your essay. Lastly, other topics are so overdone that, quite frankly, I’m tired of reading about them. you to give enough information that I could look them up if necessary. Also, keep in

mind that a URL address is NOT sufficient and will not earn credit for this assignment.

This assignment is designed to allow you time to explore multiple topics before committing to a

single idea. Use this assignment to decide if the topic you want to spend the rest of the semester

with is REALLY the one you want to spend the rest of the semester with. Additionally, my hope

is that you come away from this assignment with:
