Assessment 2 is an Evidence-based analysis: This means you should support and critically analyse arguments made within your essay / assignment / report / video by providing proper justifications from academic articles and academic books (sourced via DMU library) & from other creditable sources mentioned in your Source Selection guide on your Assessment Support folder BB page. Quality sources normally include academic journals and academic books and credible reports. You must also cite and reference your sources using Harvard Referencing (Cite Them Right). There will be guidance on your DMU Blackboard to help you to consider the credibility of your research and to help you with Harvard Referencing. 2nd Assessment is an individual written essay – 2,700 words (+/- 10% allowed)
? You should link your answers to the case study you selected for your successful Assessment 1.
? You MUST use and apply academic tools, academic concepts and academic theories to answer the below question.
? You should use academic and credible sources (citations/references) to support your arguments.
? Please follow the guideline on “Source Selection Guideline” available on your “Assessment Briefs” on BB
? Applying Harvard Referencing Style (Cite Them Right) is compulsory.
Your 2nd assessment MUST be based on the SAME organisation you selected for your 1st assessment.
Assessment 2 (AS2) questions is:
Question: Critically discuss what “Strategy Methods” & what the different types of International Strategy are and how these strategies and methods will help an organisation to improve its business performance. Use CAGE framework and Modes of Entry to support your arguments.
Illustrate your answers with the same case study you selected for your assessment 1.
To support your arguments in your 2nd assessment:
You can use and apply knowledge/data/information from your 1st assessment to support your arguments in your 2nd assessment.

Assessment 2 (AS2) Details:

? Your case study must be the same case study as your successful Assessment 1
? Submission Point: will be online on your Module’s Blackboard – Turnitin submission point.

1. There will be a penalty if you do not apply the requirements as requested.
2. You should show your critical evaluation and critical thinking.
3. You MUST apply Harvard Referencing (Cite Them Right) and show in-text citations and final Harvard list.
4. You should use Academic and Credible sources as your citations to support your arguments.
5. Your essay template must be designed based on the followings:
? On your Cover Page: Your essay title, Student P Number, your Seminar tutor name and the word count.
? Your Word Document must be saved showing only your P Number. (DO NOT add your name or any other names as your word document’s name)
? Font: Time New Roman and Font size main body: 12
? Font size titles: 16 Bold and Font size sub-titles: 14 Bold Italic
? Space between lines: 1.5; Margins; Top and Bottom: 3 cm; Margins; Right and Left: 3 cm
? Lines from left and right Justified and Pages are all Numbered
? In text citations and Final Harvard Reference List are compulsory

? All the essential sections/chapters that you think are appropriate for your submission/coursework.
? Appendix is NOT required and will NOT be accepted.
If an assignment exceeds the word count or the length of the video presentation by more than 10% of the total (not including appendices), a 10% penalty will be applied to the final mark. If a penalty is applied for exceeding the word count or the length of the video presentation, this should be made clear in the student feedback.
Assessment 2 (AS2) Tips: How to improve your 2nd assessment (AS2):
Cover page, list of contents, list of tables, list of figures and the end Harvard Reference list are not included in your final word count.
1- PLEASE check the Rubric before starting your assignment 2. This will help you to identify the key and important factors for each marking criteria.
2- You MUST use main titles and sub-titles to divide your arguments/ chapters/ assignments to a number of clear sections. This will help the examiner/moderator to follow your arguments better.
3- You MUST use academic sources such as academic text-books and academic articles from academic journals and credible sources to support your arguments.

4- DO NOT use only one or a very limited number of sources as your citations. You need to use a good mixture of sources. Please check your BB / Assessment Briefs Folder / Source Selection Guideline.
5- Your Rubric shows “Depth of Academic Knowledge 30%”. This means you need to show how you could develop your Academic Knowledge. Depth of Academic Knowledge will be developed by reading academic sources. Reading and citing ONLY ordinary non-academic sources will NOT add value into your assignment.
6- Your Rubric shows “Application of Theory and Critical Evaluation 30%”. This section will be developed by reading and citing academic sources (academic text-books and academic articles). You can use official websites or credible sources to gain numbers and figures to support your main arguments. Please check your BB / Assessment Briefs Folder / Source Selection Guideline.
7- You MUST save your assignment as your P number ONLY (choose your file name as your P number).
8- You need to answer the question and apply your academic knowledge (Strategic Management) to support your arguments. You gained this academic knowledge from Lecture 1 to Lecture 22.
A) Your assignment must have cover page (shows your case study, Your Tutor Name, Word Count and ONLY your P number)
B) List of contents (This is compulsory) and List of tables and list of figures (if it is necessary).
C) Section 1 or Introduction to the assessment and the case study background
D) Section 2 or Literature Review, Students need to identify what key factors should be added in this section. In this section, students need to cover and use the related academic tools, academic theories, academic concepts and review the related academic literature. How other academic scholars and researchers argued (advantages, disadvantages, strength, weakness, why & how). Students must show their critical evaluation and critical thinking cited and supported by academic and credible sources. In this section you will use the same case study (assessment 1) to answer the 2nd assessment’s question/s and support your arguments.
E) Section 3 or Conclusion. Students need to link the conclusion to the introduction, literature review and their arguments (You should use the same citations to recall the arguments). DO NOT add any new arguments in this section.
F) Section 4 or Final Harvard Reference List (applying Harvard Cite Them Right system).
9- Word count for each section: The below mentioned word counts are only suggestion. It is NOT compulsory to follow the mentioned word counts for each section. Please remember 2,700 words (+/-10%) is your final word count for your 2nd assessment:

How to Submit your Assessment 2 (AS2):
The assessment must be submitted by 12:00 noon (UK Time) on 08/April/2022. No paper copies are required. You can access the submission link through the module web.
• Your coursework will be given a zero mark if you do not submit a copy through Turnitin. Please take care to ensure that you have fully submitted your work.
• Please ensure that you have submitted your work using the correct file format, unreadable files will receive a mark of zero. The Faculty accepts Microsoft Office and PDF documents, unless otherwise advised by the module leader.
• All work submitted after the submission deadline without a valid and approved reason will be subject to the University regulations on late submissions.
o If an assessment is submitted up to 14 days late the mark for the work will be capped at the pass mark of 40 per cent for undergraduate modules or 50 per cent for postgraduate modules
o If an assessment is submitted beyond 14 calendar days late the work will receive a mark of zero per cent
o The above applies to a student’s first attempt at the assessment. If work submitted as a reassessment of a previously failed assessment task is submitted later than the deadline the work will immediately be given a mark of zero per cent
o If an assessment which is marked as pass/fail rather than given a percentage mark is submitted later than the deadline, the work will immediately be marked as a fail
• The University wants you to do your best. However, we know that sometimes events happen which mean that you can’t submit your coursework by the deadline – these events should be beyond your control and not easy to predict. If this happens, you can apply for an extension to your deadline for up to two weeks, or if you need longer, you can apply for a deferral, which takes you to the next assessment period (for example, to the re-sit period following the main Assessment Boards). You must apply before the deadline. You will find information about applying for extensions and deferrals here.
• Students MUST keep a copy and/or an electronic file of their assignment.
• Checks will be made on your work using anti-plagiarism software and approved plagiarism checking websites.
Return of Marked Work Assessment 2 (AS2):
You can expect to have feedback returned to you on 12/May/2022 at 12:00 noon UK time (20 working days). If for any reason there is a delay you will be kept informed. Marks and feedback will be provided online on your Turnitin. It is important that you access the feedback you receive as this will help to make improvements to your later work, you can request a meeting with your Module Leader or Personal Tutor to discuss your feedback in more detail.
Marks will have been internally moderated only, and will therefore be provisional; your mark will be formally agreed later in the year once the external examiner has completed their review. More information on assessment and feedback can be found here.

The reference list only includes the sources cited in your text.
