  1. Good communication skills are essential skills for both our daily and professional lives. In your point of view, what are the characteristics of a good communicator that managers looking for? And what values can businesses receive from hiring people with good communication skills? (150-200 word)

Global corporations are changing their business model strategies to prioritize their communication culture which is significantly one of the critical success factors. Communication skills are very critical for better organizational a relationship which is a very important tool for conflict resolution (Bell & Smith, 2010). Effective communication skills in an organization tend to minimize team conflicts since there are clear and honest dealings in matters of communication. Some of the characteristics of a good communicator the global manager is currently looking for are attentive, authentic, and honest communicators. They are also seeking understanding individuals who are good at body language and facials expressions such as direct eye contact which normally tend to capture the attention of the audiences. Managers are also looking for active communicators who are engaging approachable and interesting. These characters are not only essential for business growth but also improve corporate social responsibilities and activities. These characters are critical for developing business values such as accountability as employees will try to be very honest and transparent, there will be fairness and competence as well (Ralston, Russell & Egri, 2018).

  1.  Evaluate your communication skills; sort out your strengths and weaknesses. Describe one of your weaknesses, how it prevents you from being a good communicator? How do you plan to work on that weakness before you look for a job? (150-200 word)

As a communicator, I am often very attentive and a keen and active listener which is propelled by my curiosity to grasp things. I am also direct to the point and precise since I don’t like wasting much time hence try to be very clear. This has resulted in my mastery of different body languages and facial expressions which I often find very effective. My close colleagues describe me as approachable and open-minded which is a result of my good understanding (Dwyer & Hopwood, 2019). I like engaging my listeners and or audiences which have made others portray me as an interesting individual. I also consider myself quite honest and this makes me an authentic character.

Despite all these characters, I also display several weaknesses such as being overly empathetic which portray me as very sympathetic, barring me from making sober of proper decisions. My biggest problem that has even denied me several opportunities is my poor self-confidence. I have always shied off from taking up responsibility or having attention to myself which makes others barely recognize me. I have started taking bold steps by taking up opportunities more often to build up my self-confidence. I have been doing this progressively through the help of a supervisor to help me gain confidence for future jobs.

Dear KKK,

Hello my friend, long time no see. How are you doing after all those days of being low-key? I remember we last met at the movie theatres and we were both in a hurry so we couldn’t talk. How is your friend, the one I met you with? Did you say hello to your mom for me? I hope they are all fine. Everyone is doing fine over here and we appreciate it.

The reason I am writing this letter, which of course am doing with a lot of excitement is because I want to ask for a favor from you. The reason is, my elder brother is getting married and we are making arrangements. Therefore, everyone is busy over here since they are yet to set a date. I would like to invite you over to help on several matters. We need to draft a budget and I advised my brother who also feels that your accounting skills are good for this and we want you to create time and come over so that you can assist me with this buddy. I don’t want to engage many people that’s why we are avoiding consultants for this and we also have the necessary competence to get this done. So come over, will you?! Of course, I know what you are now thinking, ha! Ha! Ha!

I can go on and on the whole day buddy but we shall talk more when you come. Please let me know of your availability so that I also make the necessary arrangements for your coming. Say hello again to everyone and Nasir says Hello. Thanks buddy.
