Though I do not plan on conducting research, I do hold the belief that as a therapist I should continue to educate myself through reading research. For example, there is a ton of research being done on the trans community and gender identity. If I want to specialize in this area, I need to make sure I'm up to date on the latest and greatest research. This course taught me valuable skills regarding how to identify the types of research I'm reading, and truthfully determine if the research is any good! The literature reviews were particularly helpful.

Without a doubt I have gained research knowledge that I can apply in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I personally do not plan to conduct research but I will definitely continue to use it in both my educational and career life. Studying the variables that change behavior is important, allowing us to identify effective treatments and ruling out those that are not effective which is why research is vital in ABA. Treatments implemented in the field of ABA are evidence-based. This course taught me how to break a research study, making it easier to comprehend a study.
