Human rights are the basic freedoms that every person is supposed to be rendered to lead a normal and comfortable life since they embody the significant values in society such as fairness, equality, and respect.  Human rights are significant ways of protection for all the people in society including those living with a disability. Human rights give everybody in society the power and enable everybody to speak up to the various challenges we face in society. In the current society, several strides have been made towards ensuring the human rights of people living with a disability are adhered to.

Some several organizations and institutions have been created to ensure that the rights and freedoms of persons living with disabilities are adhered to. A good example of such an institution is the office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. The institution has the mandate of ensuring that there is the inclusion of the rights of those living with disabilities in the United Nations system. Persons living with disabilities in society are currently being represented in the legislative houses where their issues are represented by their representatives.

Various institutions in society have been formed to monitor the various violations of the rights of those living with a disability. Society has set rules that protect the people living with a disability. Since those living with disabilities face various challenges in their search for fundamental rights and freedoms that are related to work, education, health, and property. There are set laws that protect the person’s living with disabilities in various countries across the world.
