Robots will not take our jobs: An Annotated Bibliography

Thesis Statement: With the development of robotic equipment. The conception of the diminution of jobs due to the emerge of robots has been increasing. As a researcher and a mechanical engineer’s student I disagree with this motion. The statistics, projections and experts show a different point of view. I decided to take this as my research because I feel impassioned with the process of creating robots, and the use of them to boost humanity’s development. So, realizing that this misinterpretation is becoming popular among workers is a huge problem. To demonstrate that this is a misunderstanding I will give some data and facts about the development of the case the previous years.

This research was supervised and promoted by the American Sociological Association. Which is a very reliable and recognized organization. The investigation argued some of the articles made by famous publishers about the topic discussed. Also gives a deep explanation of the robot’s development in the industry between 2010 and 2015. The author explains that the findings of the project were, that the Increases in high-skill and some middle-skill jobs are directly linked to increases in robots in the industry area, but not for other occupations. These discoveries might signal the start of a new age in which robots become more technologically adept and better equipped to work with humans.

I will use this source how the process of adding robots to companies does not affect employment. And, to show that not any information spread through the famous publishers is necessarily true. Moreover, I would like to demonstrate through this entry that robots are here to help and not to occupy our jobs. At the time, they can’t work just by themselves

This article clarifies that the robots came to either replace or assist humans. Specifically, to eliminate the repetitive and tedious tasks. It also explains that the interaction is most likely to be collaborative. It states that new human–robot new human–robot interaction systems have been created for such systems to be able to leverage the skills of both people and robots. They also review some studies made from 2008 to 2017, in which they concluded that some sectors will be more affected than others, and that some employments will be more destroyed than others.

I will use this source as a counterargument. Because it explains that the development of the technology means that some jobs will disappear, and some others will be boosted. Furthermore, including robots completely change the sector and there are negative outcomes as well. On the other hand, reaffirm that this is not destroying employment rates and the creation of new jobs is contra resting this change in the workforce.

Furthermore, Automation may be more suited in circumstances where robots are considered to be inaccurate, are less well-equipped for the work than humans, or in where personal responsibility should be emphasized. Moreover, the study also evaluates that this also depends on the company’s area of development and their reliance on robots.

I will use this source to mention that technology development on automation will help humans instead of replacing them. Ultimately, past, and contemporary technological breakthroughs have had a major impact and demonstrated to be very beneficial for people. Moreover, I will use it to go over the various sectors in the workforce and how do experts predict they will be affected by automation. I will also use this article to briefly mention some of the conclusions made by the professional who studied the variables that resulted in a collaborative work instead a overlapping.

This source explains that the advance toward automation certainly puts pressure on human’s workforce. They affirm that the solution is a human-robot collaboration in order to boost the productivity. The source recommends a methodology to make this work in optimum conditions. They separate this method in four blocks relating the best abilities of humans and robots. These methodology blocks consist of job allocation, work distribution across time, and layout limitations.

I will use the paper to explain other alternatives to how the inclusion of robots will impact employment. And, to emphasize that this inclusion will bring with it new jobs. Furthermore, I would like to use this entry to explain that robots have positive effects like boosting productivity, among others. Also, to set a example of how can humans work with robots in harmony through a methodology.

This article emphasizes in explaining how working with robots can be dangerous and how should humans work with them in a safe way. It also mentions that this technology is increasing exponentially in the last years. As their capabilities increase, there is a desire to ensure that the rise of robots will not means a tragedy for human’s employment. This source also briefly explains the advances on robots since 1970, which is when automation emerged. Also, explaining the advances in the industrial sector since “industrial robots” were created.

I will use this reliable source to make a briefly mention to the technology development antecedents related to the society. Because this source indirectly affirms that robots will not replace humans, I will use some of that information to reaffirm my statement . Moreover, I would like to briefly mention the misunderstanding of the situation through this research. And make a connection between the industrial and automation sectors
