The topic is "Side effects of Anesthesia"

Need a hypothesis about the side effects of anesthesia to be able to complete the following:

Part two of the term paper is to begin your literature survey to provide detailed scientific background of the topic, scientific motivation for the project and the basis for the hypotheses you are proposing to test. You must use scientific literature for many aspects of your writing. In your final paper each section should have supporting literature. At this stage, the goal is to find peer-reviewed, scientific papers that specifically address problems of the type you are interested, background theory and examples of similar work. Papers supporting your methods would also be useful here.

The side effects of anesthesia

Surgeons have been using anesthesia for many years now; they started using it in 1800s. The drugs used in the initiation, maintenance, and reversal of anesthesia carry the risk of worst reactions (Anaya-Prado, R., & Schadegg-Peña, D., 2015). There are side effects of using general anesthesia, but these side effects can be prevented when anesthesia is administered correctly. The common side effects of anesthesia include dizziness and nausea (Park & Sharon, 2017). Some patients may experience no side effects, while some patients experience many of the side effects. The surgical procedure offers more risk and increases the side effects of anesthesia (Hutton et al., 2018). This study includes a hypothesis about the side effects of anesthesia and a short literature review of the research papers. The authors have provided evidence for the side effects of anesthesia. The hypothesis for this study is as follows:

Hypothesis: Side effects of anesthesia can occur during and after surgery; the side effects of anesthesia can influence memory and other parts of the human brain.

There can be adverse side effects of anesthesia; both the intravenous and volatile anesthesia include the side effects such as haematological effects, cardiovascular effects, central nervous system effects or CNS effects, endocrine and metabolic effects, gastrointestinal and hepatic effects, respiratory effects, genitourinary effects, ocular effects, obstetric effects, musculoskeletal effects, and some other effects as well. There are also allergic reactions associated with the use of anesthesia. The overdose of anesthesia was found to be the major cause of death (Naguib, 1988).

The use of general anesthesia causes unconsciousness, antinociception, amnesia, and immobility of the individual. The use of opioids is considered to be an effective antinociceptive agent, but the use of opioids also has the worst side effects on the patients. There is a need for more research in this field to study and introduce such practices to reduce the side effects of anesthesia (Brown et al., 2018).  The use of topical anesthesia is common, and it is widely used by various surgeons and medical specialties. The use of topical anesthesia can cause superficial loss of pain when it is directly applied to the body. The surgeons can improve or enhance the delivery and effectiveness of anesthesia by focusing on the drug concentration and the lowering of melting points by using the free bases, lipid delivery vesicles, and physical and chemical permeation enhancers (Kumar et al., 2015).

Moreover, topical anesthesia is considered to reduce the pain, and the use of intravitreal injection is done for topic anesthesia. There is no other way identified for the use of topical anesthesia. The use of topical anesthesia is proved to eliminate the pain completely during surgery. The side effects of topical anesthesia cannot be ignored; the use of subconjunctival lidocaine injection can cause a subconjunctival hemorrhage (Gambrell & Schaal, 2012). Furthermore, the dentists also use anesthesia while treating the teeth of the patients; they should be aware of the side effects of using anesthesia. There can be allergic reactions and vomiting. The overdose of anesthesia should be avoided by the patients as it can affect the brain and parts of the brain of the patients. The dentists should identify an appropriate dose of anesthesia to avoid its side effects of it. The use of anesthesia to provide treatment to children can be risky; the overdose should be avoided in this case. Only a little amount of anesthesia should be used for treating the children (Lee, 2016). In addition to that, the use of anesthesia also has side effects on the lungs of the patient. Therefore, the surgeons use different ways to avoid the negative effects of anesthesia on patients' lungs (Hedenstierna, G., & Edmark, L., 2015)

This study concludes that there are many side effects of anesthesia, and it can only be avoided with the proper administration by the surgeons or healthcare specialties. The proper dose of anesthesia should be identified to avoid any side effects.
